All my fears are realized!

At some point in time today while i was at school someone KEYED MY CAR Its a big scratch from under the door handle on the driver side all the way to near the gas cap cover....I was at the gym on campus when it happened and so i was hoping they had security camaras or something in the parking lot...but of course they DIDN'T they said the only thing i could do was file a report w/ the CAMPUS police....and they even said "but they probably won't do to much about it, cause theres not way to know who did it"
....so now i have to get this fixed...its one thing right after the other...
last week at school (i'm guessing...it couldn't have been anywheres else) someone backed into the back of my car and then left...i didn't even notice it was there till i was washing it a couple days later and noticed the paint chipped off in places....
This really makes me want to have a hunk of junk just to drive to school and back... at least now though i will be able to get all this fixed at once and it won't have to go in the shop two times in the same month! Does anyone know of any methods that fix fairly deep scrathes w/out having to get it repainted? SOME PEOPLE!!!

As I read your post, I got more and more infuriated. The types of people that do that poo should get karmically realigned by way of my fist in their face!
I live in a college town. Anytime I go near campus, it is guaranteed to put me in a bad mood. Freaking college kids have no respect for anything. That combined with the *tiny* streets around campus, it's ding central.
Sorry I don't have any advice on how to fix your car...

I remember back when I went to UK, I was parked on the street in my RX-7 with dark tinted windows waiting for class to start. A guy backed into the spot in front of me and backed right into me. When he saw me getting out to confront him he took off.
You can't have a nice car while going to college when there are 30,000 students with only about 5,000 places to park.
I hope you get your car fixed back to the way you like it. Some people just have no respect for others property.

That's disgusting.
Sounds like the Camaro boys are really starting to get jealous.
All kidding aside. That's aweful about your car. More and more people in this world seem to suck. Seriously people, get a life. :notnice:
Edit: Come on guys - Camaro boys was a joke - of course it could've been anyone.

This is why you park your car 1/4 mile or the farthest away in a parking lot. Or in a corner which gives you a 50/50 chance. Or do what I do hardly ever drive it because AND ONLY BECAUSE people do not give a sh_t about other people. Its a shame to buy a car and hardly ever drive it but in this world you cannot have anything nice unless its in your living room.

Celeste, I have the same fear when I park my Mustang on campus. I've only had her for a week and I worry about her all the time sitting in the parking lot all alone. Thursdays are heck for me, I park her for 15 hours in the lot all alone, I check on her occassionally but she is there from 7am to 10pm straight (thanks to class and work on campus).
I know this may sound sad but usually I run to my car after class because I want to make sure no one has touched her. Also if you want a lesser chance of getting dinged, park next to the new Mercedes' and BMW's, seems like they care enough about your car as they do theirs.
People that key cars belong on an island all to themselves. Also watch out for kids and their bikes, the handle bars get pretty close to cars, I had a huge scratch in my truck (about the height of the kids' bikes from down the block) a week before I got my mustang.

I feel your pain but, it could be worse. My beloved, well-modded '88 LX 5.0 was stolen from my college campus in '90.
It was then used for a couple of B&Es, then flipped on its roof at a high rate of speed.
Suffice it to say, I would have been pleased to have painted a scratch (I drove a '90 Escort for the next 6 years!). Don't get me wrong, I'm not downplaying how p-o'ed you must be (I know I'd be) but, be glad you still have your pony!

I doubt it was a GM muscle car fan who did this. More likey a ricer or (being that you are on a college campus) some environmentalist large guy in Austin Powers. Whoever it was, he/she deserves a fist in their mouth. Cowards.

This happened to me a few months ago... I feel your pain...
Mine is from the passenger side front fender through the door to the back back fender... It was gonna cost me $1,200 to fix, and that's with my discount!! So, I wet sanded most of it and re-polished it for now... It's still there, but you really got to look for it now, which will have to due until I can get it fixed...

Sorry to hear about damage to your car. There are people in this world that destroy what they can't have! It's happened to me many times over.
But keep the faith, you've got your dream car!!!
Happy Trails!!!
