!8"chrome bullitt swirl marks
Just noticed the other day that my rims have swirl type marks(Not actually swirled)in some places..I cant believe this because I am very careful when it comes to cleaning the stang. These are clearcoated ,right?? Anybody have any clue how to fix this w/out further damage? Any help would be much appreciated

Keep in mind that you never really remove a scratch...you need to remove some of the material around it.
The nice thing about ScratchX is that it has "diminishing abrasives" that break down very quickly reducing the changes of rubbing to far. Use a little, take a look, and use some more if necessary. Unless scratches are very deep, this technique has worked for me a number of times.
EDIT: I just read that your wheels are chrome aftermarkets...I missed that in your first post. How would anyone out here know if they are clearcoated? You might want to check with the manufacturer for advice.

Correct. The clear coat on the wheels is like the clear coat on your car. The scratch you see is probably IN the clear coat.

Not sure there's much you do with this, maybe nature of the beast. I had chrome deep dish on my '04 GT and after a while I had the same thing in certain areas. Mind you I was one ASOB about cleaning the rims, what I used to polish, etc.

I love Scratch X Chuck, but you do have to work with it pretty hard. I usually end up applying it multiple times to achieve the results I'm looking for. ColorX from Meguiar's is also a pretty good product for swirls and such.
Good luck, let us know how it goes.

I only had chrome wheels on one vehicle many years ago and they were NOT clearcoated. If your wheels do not have a clear coat, I don't think you're going to be able to remove a scratch if it's in the plating. The only way a scratch is "removed" in paint or clear coat is by removing some paint or clear coat around it. You can't do that with chrome.
