****, In GA 24 MPH over the speed limit is reckless driving and an automatic trip to jail. Plus if you're going over 80MPH you get a super speeder ticket, which is an automatic $200 on top of the normal fine

Got one last month on a dark lonely state route 45: 60/45. That was $140.

Yes the passport 8500 went off but on X band ?? At 11:00 PM on a Tuesday nite ?

Yes and yes.

Moral of the story: Ya gotta pay to play.

Yeah no doubt you were such a menace on the roads with all those other people!!! You know we would all love to tell the cops "don't you have something better to do?".

Why have a fast car if you can't play? Sounds like you aren't worthy of owning a GT500.

Public highways aren't the place to show how fast you are. You shouldn't be going faster than traffic speed.

I've got a 9500, instant on is a pain, break immediately it still takes them a second or two to "verify" your speed I heard *shrug*.

Laser can also be a pain. Today on my way in to work the 9500 was almost constantly on... cops were everywhere....

I don't usually speed, every once in a while, I just like to take off fast...

$200 on top of the "normal fine?" Still not even the minimum in California! Thankfully, I haven't gotten one since my '07 mustang.

No delay in the reading. It's instant. One of my best friends is a Texas State trooper. I've gotten to ride with him for a few shifts, and he showed me how it works. Basically, it's always on, but he pushes a button which will "hold" the radar, when he pushes it again, it gives a speed reading about as fast as you can snap your fingers.

There are places in Texas where you can drive 80 and still be within the speed limit. The fastest highway in Texas has an 85MPH speed limit.

Ironically, it's the same highway that runs just in front of the Circuit of the Americas race track.

I was on that stretch of tollway in Feb. unfortunately it was in the wife's Camry. But still fun to do 85mph legally. I couldnt understand why I was passing people; if the limit is 85, why not enjoy it?
