my rear passengers wheel has significant curb damage from the previous owner and the front on the same side has one small spot so i want to get new wheels

my wheels are 16" and wrapped with 225/55 goodyear's
today i found out that someone i know has a set of 16" pony's in much better shape and i'm thinking about buying them but they got 245/50's on them but they are really worn and i dont know much about tires...

so will my tires fit on the pony wheels?
or do you think i should save some more and buy some different wheels
he wants $80 for the set

By a set you mean 4 tires/rims??? The first number you see is the tread width 225 is somewhat narrower (if that's a word) then the 245. And the 55 on your set right now is the sidewall thickness. If you get the 50s' then the sidewall will be smaller. If you plan on replacing just 1 or even 3, it will be off balance due to #1 the sidewall height and 2 the tread width. As far as fitting your rims right now I am not 100% sure if they will. I'll let the tire experts take care of you on that one.

Hope that helped

yep by set i meant all four

i guess i was really asking if my tires are too narrow for those wheels
the 245's seems to bulge out a bit whereas the 225's on my car dont bulge like that so i think they'll fit

the diffeence between 225 and 245 is 2cm right?
