I read somewhere that the factory glass is tinted to 89%... does anyone know if this is true? what I would like to really know is does the factory tint provide UV or IR protection? and does it reduce heat transmition through the glass? If so by how much? if anyone has any info or can direct me to a source where I can read about it please provide a link. However the manual does not state more than the glass is equivalent to SPF 50... I'm not sure how to convert that number and compare it to tint material that tell you a % reduction or % UV transmittance. Thanks in advance.

Yeah I got a tint ticket b/c of this (I got tint legal in my state but not counting factory tint). My dealer did the tint before I ever saw it so how was I supposed to know exactly??? No problems in my last two Stangs with the same %.

 

I put in a call to ford three days ago... i was promised that someone would get back with me after they resurched it. I was told no longer than 48 hours. Here we are 72 hours later and still no answer.

fornt glass has this written on it:

"carlite solar tint laminated front glass as1 dot-287 m180" whatever thats suposed to mean.

 

ford has not called me back on this as they promised me they would. I guess they feel leaving thier customers hanging is good policy. I'm going to put in another call tomorrow. agrrrrr
