What kind of wax do you use?

I waxed my 06 GT for the first time since I have had it today and I normally would use Mothers brand wax but I used Maguires instead and I think it might be better....opinions

Wax Question

I have used numerous products and presently have Zaino on the car. It is much easier to use than in the old days and the results are very good. I also use 303 on the black plastic trim and this gives a good result.

I am sure you will get numerous opinions on this topic and the products you mentioned work great as well.

Prep work is the first step to any wax job. I always start with claying then use Scratch X on any areas that need more attention. The next step is the polishing and final is the wax or sealer.

If the finish is really bad then after the clay you should use a compound that will not harm the clear coat.

Hope this helps out.

I always WAS a Meguiar's fan (Gold Class too) but the Mother's 100% Pure Carnauba wax just pops as the final coat. I use it on all my cars now. I usually get it for about $10 a bottle (liquid) unless a real good sale for even less.

I use Meguire's Pro line. Clay then #26 Glaze. Then #7 pure Carnaba. Then buff to a high shine.

Meguairs makes a GREAT over the counter wax. I actually used the Meguairs Ultimate Black Restorer yesterday on my black trim on the daily driver and it works awesome.
I currently use Zaino polishes, but am very interested in the Dodo Juice that all the professional detailers are raging about. It won some awards for best wax, if you go onto their website, http://www.dodojuice.com/
If you have a car with metallic paint, their Purple Haze soft wax is awesome, I hear. Some detailers apply the wax by hand. Do a Google search as I do to I do research on stuff like this.
This is a pic of the daily driver with the Zaino polish on it. Zaino tire juice as well. (was polished last year about 5 months ago with a full claybar first.) Yesterday was the first hand wash day for the daily driver after that nasty winter we had.

I have been hearing a lot of great things about the Black Fire line of products on autogeek.net. Hit up autogeek and learn some things. That's where I learned a lot about auto finish care and restoration. I love the fact that they have videos of everything on there. They also have a forum where you can ask these questions and have them answered by professional detailers. Top notch guys on there and not the normal fuss of your typical forum. Everyone on there has OCD when it comes to cars and they are always willing to spread the disease so to speak. Good luck.

I typically use Meguiars or Mothers, and sometimes use Turtle Wax Black wax...because my car is black. I was feeling lazy yesterday, so I tried Turtle Wax Ice, liquid wax, and I'm happy with the results:
