what the hell?
It's been over a month since I ordered a 2013 mustang GT and ford says the order is still in processing. I'm getting impatient. I went to a local Chevy dealer and they had 6 camaros in stock. What's going on?

Takes more than a month to get an ordered Mustang - I was told it would be six to eight weeks - minimum! Sure there are cars in stock - but is it the one you want with the stuff you want?
TMS has helpful Ford reps in the forums like Deysha who can sometimes get more information than your dealership. Hopefully someone can get to you soon.

Mine took four months. 3 months before it was built. Things happened at the assembly plant, the earthquake in Japan, etc and so on. Then it was the last stop for the truck or something because it was nearly month before it arrived after it was built. A month is nothing.
Then again, my '97 showed up in about a month...
It seems all ordered cars take a long time these days.
A co-worker's wife ordered a Camaro. It took almost as long as my car.

its a car.. not a #3 at taco bell. good things take time. the chevy dealer has 6 camaros because they are selling camaros. If they had 6 mustang they wouldnt have them for long.

My Ford dealer had around (20) 2013 GTs in-stock... and that was 3 weeks ago.

When I ordered my 05 from the factory I placed the order in May 2004 and it arrived Nov 2004. Yes, 5 months is what it took. If you are that impatient after one month you better find a way to occupy your time because it could be a long wait. As for Camaro's being on dealer lots, well, that is because if you look around they are not as popular as the Mustang.

I researched the Mustang and options I wanted (and/or could afford reasonably) when the 2011 models were out - When it was finally time to get serious, I went back and forth for months between dealerships trying to get the package I wanted at the price I wanted. I bought one which was at another dealership that was sold under me and I had to wait a few days for another (different color, exact same package), but I was out of town for a week and some change so I waited even longer. I spent the time online looking at pics, stats, forums, and deciding if I were going to stripe or mod or what not.
The total time between when I got serous and finally received was about six months.
Be excited, but don't get too excited!

while they still consistently get their "high selling" land sled behinds spanked by 5.0s
order completion is not an exact science... my '86 5.0 took 9 weeks to deliver
my BMW was ordered 4 mos. in advance and came right on schedule. My current 5.0 was ordered on 10.24.12 built 11.7.12 and arrived at the dealer at the end of November.... I think the line was running fast due to build-out for end of year.

Fact- Many people in the USA are stupid. stupid =buying a camaro.
Fact- honda dealers have like 50 civics on the lot at all times. Maybe you check into a nice mpg getter.

Maybe that's why GM is offering Z07 Corvette purchasers the ability to help finish the car off of the assembly line for what, an extra $5k or so? Can Ford use the assistance on the assembly line while making more profit from the customer?

Chevy sells more camaros because it was on a 8 year vacation and a lot of people needed to catch up, the mustang has out sold the Chevy the entire time before. Some cases like 5:1
Also I waited about 3 months for my 2011
