I didn't end up trading my car, and pretty sure I'm going to be able to keep it, but just for anyone else thinking about trading their car. I know at least one other guy on here had the same experience.
This is not meant to sound bad but at least one good thing has come of this recall. You get to keep your mustang. I really think that you'd regret losing her. I'm glad you were able to figure out a way to make it work.

Just think about it. All the airbags in several years of cars - several makes and models - all being recalled at the same time. PLUS, factories are still building new airbags for new cars. There's over 30 million airbags being recalled in the USA. Just how quickly do you think they can possibly redesign and build replacements for all these cars? Assuming factories weren't just sitting around idle waiting for orders... It's likely going to take years.

What's the risk level? Currently for Ford the recall is being done at the advisement of the NHTSA and not due to any actual reported failures. So there's even a chance the airbags are not even defective.

My level of concern - minimal. I totaled my 2012 Mustang and the airbags deployed fine without causing any injury. I'm currently driving a 2014 Mustang and also have a 2012 Focus.

Yeah, we got the letter a few months ago .... supposed to get a call when part is ready. I'm really not sure I want to have to leave my car at the dealership for a day when it comes in, likely I'll stay there with it.

Just say that you don't want airbags anyway
