Top Ten worst cars...

.....for reliability in 2018. Camaro leads the way.......

I had a '15 SS Camaro and frequented the Camaro5 forum.
Those 'pansies' are afraid of diesel trucks and other cars.

Over the years I have lost faith in these so called professional survey's. Many buyers these days are so illiterate (that's the nicest I can put it) about cars, they have no idea how car works. They jump in, start the engine, it shakes a little, and off to the dealer they go about an engine problem, etc. They are quite an unreliable source for vehicle reliability. The best source for reliability of a vehicle is an internet forum for the car you are considering. You may see some stupid thread about a problem, but in the answers you'll find if there is a real problem. And most times you will find how to take care of the problem if there is one. With a little time, and study of a forum you can tell if a particular vehicle is a good buy, or not. And, don't get me started with Consumer Reports.

Disclaimer: This is my humble opinion on the matter.

It's been my experience that although they say they don't take money from advertisers, they still show bias to certain manufacturers. I also don't take much stock in Motor Trends car of the year crap. I know you're much younger, but many of us remember their pick of the Vega back in the 70's. I bought one on their recommendation in 1972. What a rolling mistake that thing was.

You mean the company that despises American muscle? I don't allow that liberal rag in my home, and haven't since the late 90's with their hatred of all things V8. I owned a 1996 Pontiac Formula that had their infamous black marks all over the reviews, a car to avoid at all costs. I bought mine right off the dealer showroom in July 1996 and owned it over 9 years with minimal issues, and I mean minimal. My '01 Trans Am (another horrible V8) has been a pleasure, and still is, 16 years later. I have no idea how CR rated my '07 GT but I'm sure it was horribly reviewed as well. Outside of the airbag recall it hasn't seen the dealership once except for new Ford batteries.

Likewise, I look a at the JD Power Initial quality ratings with a little side-eye. Really I'm more interested in quality and problems 3, 5, 10 years down the line. How about after its been used a bit when I have to pay to get it fixed and not in the first 6 months when the maker has to do it (and can hide the data on warranty repairs if need be).

And the Chevy Citation as well.

A freakin' Vega would rust before you got it off the lot, lol. Luckily most of them ended up torn all to hell as pony class dirt track cars.

but... the mags are pretty big lovers of imports.
Gravy, when Dave says "American Muscle" he means American cars with a V8 engine of the past/present. It's an old term, and being a youngster I understand how you could make the wrong link. But, you can now says you learned something new by hanging around the old gear heads here.

Worst car I ever owned was a 300zx turbo. Holy ****!! Only car I've ever owned that left me stranded somewhere (on the interstate no less, in the middle of nowhere).

Some old Hyundai sedan that didn't last long. They say Hyundais are better now, all I know is that one from the 80's was cheap and crappy.

^ But not so sexy looking when it's stuck on the side of the road waiting for a tow truck.

Hey, I know where you can get a good one of those... My 80 year old Dad has a great 1987 red one in his garage with 54k miles on it. That one has been a great car. He will not part with it. Has owned it for not quite 30 years. Car is in great condition and is all original, but the wheels and tires. Don't burn me on the messy garage, it is not mine.

Edit: Down sized picture...

Another couple of shots. He maybe put 100 miles on it last year.

Edit: Finally got to a machine where I could edit the size of these pictures...
