I recently bought 4 19" rims with tires off a 2011 mustang GT. and I've heard that there are 4 sensors hidden inside the tires, and there are registered to the vehicle.
So when I switching to the new rims, do I have to reregister the sensors? Can I do it myself or I have to go to the dealer?

Any input will be helpful.

The TPMS sensors on 2010+ Mustangs are mounted in the valve stems. (On 07-09's they were mounted on bands on the inside of the wheels)
To train the sensors to your car you need this: http://www.americanmuscle.com/tpms-tool.html
Dealers have this tool. To train the sensors use the attached procedure.
Attached Files
File Type: pdf
TPMS Calibration.pdf (122.7 KB, 257 views)

Ive also read where they self learn on 10' and up. I put a set of the 19" factory wheels (came off an 11 or 12) on my 10' for a couple months and didn't have to do a thing. Ran them from Sept til today when I put my 18" back on for winter. I got the syncing tool from AM, was cheaper than from Ford. And they send a DVD with it.

Far as I know, there is actually nothing need to be done. The only problem will be sensors aren't gonna work. And I think that's not a problem since I'm checking. My tires often.

So did u do anything when switching to 19"?

I bought 19's as wel and will be dealing with this soon. From my understanding you can swap your old sensors into the new rims, but it is advised you buy a rebuild kit. As far as removal and install I have no idea.

The tire store that changed my stock wheels out for aftermarket wheels took the sensors out of my stock wheels and installed them in my aftermarket wheels. No charge.

I just put 2010 GT500 wheels on my '09. I bought a set of 07-09 stem mounted sensors from AM, but apparently got a bad batch because they wouldn't train. They sent me another set, & I'm going to get them installed this week. I drove the car several days before the light on the dash came on.
