sugar in gas tank

So if someone were to put sugar in your gas tank, about how long do you think it would take for you to notice?

Depends how much sugar. I imagine things would get gummed up pretty quick if it was more than a pound, about 1/4 of a typical bag of sugar.
Ex-girlfriend???

Lmao.. no, im just curious because i came out today and noticed my gas cap door clicked open... i dont understand why ford just couldnt put a locking gas cap door on the new mustangs... now anyone can just open up your gas tank door just by pressing on it... anyway, i got a quarter tank of gas... lets burn through this and see what happens

You can purchase a locking gas cap online, just Google around there's few places selling one for 2011-2014 .

hmm, really? ... well I burned up the remaining gas in the tank and filled her up. Put about 75 miles on the car with the remaining fuel that was in there... seems to be running fine, so lets just hope that no one put anything in it

If you've got sugar in your tank, move to San Francisco. You'll fit right in.

One of the first 'mods' I did was a lockable gascap. But I took siphoning gas as the more immidiate reason.

OP, I'm positive you would've noticed some sugar inside of the gas door. I couldn't poor sugar from a bag into a coffee cup without getting it all over. That on top of someone being nervous about getting caught, it would be hard to miss excess sugar everywhere.

I have a locking gas cap (that I bought after buying the car). No worries for me.

lol.. well considering you have to use a funnel to release that door for the cap-less design, you could probably do it without getting sugar everywhere... but i mean considering i already burned up the rest of the quarter tank of fuel that was in there without any problem, im fairly confident that sugar wasnt put in there... im still getting a locking gas cap though!

"Sugar in the gas tank" is an old way to say someone was gay.
"I think that guy has a little sugar in his tank."

I've had it done to me twice in my lifetime. The first time they did not know what they were doing. My truck ran kinda bad for a couple of weeks, oh and the first one also took out my transmission mount bolts once. The second time they meant business! The truck would not run spit and sputtered really bad and died! At the time I had a locking gas cap and that did not stop them. When I pulled my gas tank out I had about 4 to 5 pounds of sugar in the tank! Thankfully the fuel filter stopped the sugar from getting to the throttle body! The in tank fuel pump was seized! I had to replace all the rubber lines and the fuel filter. I had to blow out all the hard fuel lines. I was able to save the fuel pump. I got it running again. The bad part is I know who did it both times, one was an EX-best friend and room mate and the other was my girlfriends EX-boyfriend. Both times over the same girl!
