Actually #2 was "classic cars". One of the ones mentioned was the 65 stang. The stang was also mentioned at #6 (i think) which was verts and #13 which was muscle cars.

GTO?

I think both Charger and Chevelle SS are better than GTO.

By the way, was there specific year of GTO, or GTO in general?

They meant it as "classic GTO" in general.

The guy who lives in same strees as I do have '70 Chevelle and '68 Camaro.

There is also guy who lives near, he owns 4 Mustang, 1964-1966, 1971-1973, 1996-1998 and current one. Sorry, I don't know exact year, and only drove past his house few times.

The '65 Mustang was indeed named Best Classic Car, and #2 overall.

These were all based on polls at spiketv.com, so don't go calling for the heads of the execs.

I guess the GTO got the nod because it was considered the first muscle car

Actually, I believe the Chrysler 300C was the first muscle car. Saw that on AMerican Muscle Car anyway.

I guess it is up to debate... I personally think the '64 GTO caused the chain reaction in the 60's where everyone was dropping big-cube motors in their intermediates.

I personally think the chrysler 300C was more of a plush car and wasn't marketed to youth's as the GTO was.

The 300C was the first to offer 100mph performance to the common man, so a strong case can be made for it as the first muscle car. You could also count the first 409 Impalas if you wanted.
