Slip Yoke

I have a 1964, Ford C4 automatic transmission. It has a 28 spline output shaft. I bought a 27/28 spline yoke. It counts 27 because a spline is missing. It will only go in about 1.250". Does anyone have any ideas?

Does The Yoke Have a Ford Id * Like C4ZF-AA? Did You Have an Original Yoke That Was Damaged? Need Some Backstory! New Item?? Used??
