Contender against who?? No Camaro, no Challenger, there is no one but Mustang.
Ford should concentrate on keeping the Mustang GT cars affordable for the masses. 400 HP is more than enough for anyone other than track folks. It's bad enough already that new GT 'verts are around $60k. That's too high.

I totally agree... Unless they consider the current Corvette as the only other contender? there are no longer any other contenders, at least on the domestic level anyhow...
I also fully agree that 400 HP is more than enough power for anyone other than for track/drag applications...
And Ford should most definitely focus on keeping the Mustang affordable for the masses, as anything north of $50k is too high and out of reach for those in the middle class...

I wouldn't count on that, as Stellantis has already invested millions of dollars in its EV technology program with the 2025 EV Dodge Charger which has already been given the green light for production...
There're are also rumors going around that GM is considering developing an all EV Camaro for the 2026 model year, as well...

That would be nice as having choices is a wonderful thing.. Test driving Mustangs, Camaros, and Challengers, Chargers just a few short years ago let you seriously consider each model. I'll always be grateful for that. It was the early 1970's all over again (throw in AMC Javelins as well) even though I could not afford anything back then.
I'm so pleased with my stable at home. With such limited money in retirement I consider myself very fortunate. Thank you Social Security checks!!

EV's on their own aren't a bad thing at all -- if nothing else they're just giving everyone more choices. Tesla's are more like muscle cars than most people think -- American made, stupid fast in a straight line, heavy, awful brakes, can pass most anything but a gas...er charging station. But they've got an image problem -- both boring to look at and a reputation of being driven by 'virture signalers', even if a lot of people who by them don't do it for the environmental image.
All that said, EV's are just another option out there, they don't make sense for everybody (don't make sense for a LOT of people). But yeah they kept trying to push those things on everyone so hard a couple years ago.
Back to this GT350... maybe it's because the last GT350 had such a unique power plant...but what's so special about yet another supercharged 5.0? edit -- what I mean is I'm just disappointed in the engine options. The last GT350 had the Voodoo, which really made it stand out from the GT or the GT500. This is either the standard 480 hp Gen 3 coyote you see in the GT, or just a supercharged version of it. Bet it's TONS of fun, but not something you couldn't get by slapping a blower on your GT. But this one does have some other upgrades other than the engine (not gonna lie, does look pretty sharp).
Here in California Our Power Grid is Already Overtaxed So it Makes No Sense To Go All in on Ev's. But That Don't Seem To Register to the Liberal Greenies!
A couple thoughts-unfettered with knowledge or reality. We're seeing the first wave of EV buyers be satisfied, there isn't a huge wave behind them. Those who wanted to get one, did. There is no or a very small follow-on. Look at Hertz' experience with them-dumped the lot of them out of their fleet. Infrastructure is still not sufficient for demand. Until the next generation of battery tech comes on board, allowing 500-600 mile range I don't see the market expanding greatly. What that means for the Mustang or sport cars in general, I don't know. I do know I bought a 2024 Mustang to avoid the surcharges Ford added to the 2025, so there's that.

If the green liberals and the EPA weren't threatening to ban production of all ICE vehicles by 2030-32 according to the EV mandate, which is now been thankfully terminated, I wouldn't mind with having EV's as an option for those who really want them... But when it comes to putting pressure on people to get rid of their gas-powered vehicles towards EV's which they really don't want, to begin with is crossing way beyond the line, as far as I'm concerned...
At any rate, there's a huge difference between having alternative choices over people being forced or pressured into giving up their current vehicles towards going all EV is not only a bad thing but is also a total disgrace and unacceptable... As far as I know, we are still citizens under a democratic constitution which includes providing freedom of choice... End of rant!

^^^ Thank you for that.
Freedom of Choice is not allowed with an EV mandate. Good riddance libtards.....
This music is NOT for everybody but the lyrics are quite accurate. DEVO "Freedom of Choice"
A victim of collision on the open sea Nobody ever said that life was free Sank, swam, go down with the ship But use your freedom of choice
I'll say it again in the land of the free Use your freedom of choice Your freedom of choice

^^^^^ Also, thank you as well... It's also good to know that folks such as ourselves still value having freedom of choice as opposed to those green libtards who want to force their EV mandates down everybody's throat, including our Auto Industry...
Thank God that our voices were finally heard... Take that, Libtards
