Roots
Alright, it's a bit late, and I got a wild hair.
1. 1978 Ford Mustang II Hatchback Green/Tan
It was an inline-4 with an automatic, my grandpa wrecked it less than 2 weeks after it was bought. not his fault. thing had firestone tires.
Bought: June 1978
Died: June 1978
2. 1980 Ford Mustang LX Coupe 4spd Black/Checkered Seat Covers
"Stormy"
This was the grand-daddy of all mustangs. it was bought as an inline 4, and, as an 'im sorry' to my aunt for wrecking her other Mustang, my grandfather dropped a 351C in it, put in exhaust, headers, and a holley 4 barrel. It was wrecked 3 years later, after an econoline cut my aunt off, and sent her veering into a canal to avoid it. that donkey doughnut
Right before she was going to trade it for a 1969 Convertible with a 427 and a 4spd.
Bought : June,1980
Died : July, 1983
3. 1984 Ford Mustang LX 4spd Coupe
"Sandy"
a plain jane mustang. Tan outside, odd plaid seat covers inside. I was brought from the hospital home in this car, and she currently holds the record for longest lasting car in the family. She died when my aunt sold her to my cousin, who tried to hot-rod an 84 2.3l Mustang :bang:
Bought : August, 1984
Died: July, 1993
4. 1989 Mustang LX Auto Green/Grey
It was a 1 year lease...not much else
Leased: 1989
Released: 1990
5. 1990 Mustang GT (my aunt's favorite) Dark Blue/Grey AUTO
The first 5-liter to grace our front yard. the 225 hp wonder. I wish this car was still around, because then it would be mine, and I have a FETISH for Fox Body Mustangs.
Bought: 1990
Stolen: 1990
6. 1993 Mustang Cobra 5spd White/Grey 5spd
Aweeeee yeah, boyee! the 5 liter 235 hp Cobra of 1993! My aunt took this particular mustang to Bakersfield speedway, which made her love it all that much more. and made her hurt 100x worse when THIS one was stolen. Given the history of 302's (5.0's) in our posession, i'm sorta scared to get one myself
Bought: 1993
Stolen: 1993
7. 2004 40th Anniversary Mustang V6 Auto Orange/Charchoal
"Hally"
The now. She's a great car. Plain jane, just like our Sandy was.
Bought: March, 2004
Died/Sold/Traded In/Stolen:????
That's it...for now

lucky! thats alot lol
my aunt had an 80 I4 LX notch
didnt have 5.0s that year, i imagine it was a 2.3L, although it could have had an I6 or V6 in it as well. i never got to see it, or pictures either so ill never kno for sure.
but it was red, with red vynle interior and a red vynle top
and that was the only other mustang in our family aside from mine
my loverly lil 2.8L 4speed Mustang II cobra II
but ill bet it wont be the last. ive brainwashed all the younger cousins and the lil bro to like fords hehe, specifically mustangs.
and its starting to show, one turns 16 in a few months and he fell for the fusion already... WITHOUT me trying to brainwash him lol

Shortly before I was born, Dad had a black '65 6 cyl with a 3 spd manual
My first was my beloved '85 Canyon Red SVO, I drove it all year round and it was my favorite!
The '85 was regrettably sold, but now in the barn I have my '03 Azure Blue Mach 1 and my '03 Roush Classic in Zinc Yellow.
I cannot imagine NOT having at least 1 Mustang to drive!!

1976, I was 16 and car shopping and there she was, a Gold 1966 Mustang GT 289 HiPo, 4 speed with 37,000+ miles in mint condition-but I didn't have the $1500.00 asking price :bang: so I ended up getting a 1971 Torino GT 351C 4v auto with 40,000+ miles for my first car-for $975.00
My first new car was a 1985 Mustang GT. It was one of the last 20 Mustangs built with a carburator. I was told that Ford was changing over to Fuel Injection and ran out of carburated 85' 5.0's and the last 20-30 had Ford Motorsport 5.0's. (Ford Racing use to be Ford Motorsport) the 85' 5.0 had a 585 cfm Autolite/Holley carb. and was rated at 210 hp, the Ford Motorsport 5.0 had a 650 cfm Holley and was rated at 235 hp, my car also had the same exhaust as the 1986 5.0 (first year for true dual as opposed to split exhaust). All I know is the first time at the track it ran a 14.79@96 with 2.73's (I raced 8 other GT's that day and the best they could do was 14.97@94-most were running low 15's). my best time ever was 13.98@101 with K@N, UD pullies on slicks!
In 1988 I became a State Trooper and convinced my Uncle (a State Trooper Major) to order some Mustang Interceptors for the dept. Well in 1989 my Sgt. called me and asked if I wanted on of the Mustang Interceptors? Well I got one and I was still a rookie
it had 12,000 miles on it but to me it was brand new. I turned that car in with 148,000+ miles and all it had done to it in that time was a new water pump, fuel pump and clutch. Those cars were the most reliable patrol cars we have ever had. To answer your question: Top Speed 152 mph and I got up to 125 4-5 times a day for 5 years!
In 2000 I wanted a Cobra but they didn't make any that year (except the Cobra R) so at the end of the year I found a deal on a white GT. I could of waited and got a 2001, but I didn't want that hideous fake J.C. Whitney hood scoop. Since I love the 2000 Cobra R, I modded my car to look like it and the rest is history. My next car is probably going to be a Factory Five Roadster or Daytona Coupe--I can't stand the "New" Mustang bodystyle (Ford has to do something with the front).
