Expensive fuel expensive taxes and expensive car dealers are the burden of all of us in england who want to drive a real car.Two door 1.2 litre granny carriers with boy racer add on's from ebay are all the rage in the uk.
I have put my social life on hold and have two jobs just to pay off my debts so that i can hopefully buy a new GT next year.
It costs £28000 for a GT in the UK which is $50064 so i'm thinking about exporting one from the states even though i will have to pay import duties and have a couple of conversions done i have just got to do the sums.

Whoa another Colin! Wicked! Try calculating everything in Pounds including taxes and everything and compare it. I tryed those figures for importing into Canada. I do a lot of that lately :P . Anyways it was about the same as buying a new one in Canada.

Go to the Ask a Ford Salesman forum. Someone should be able to help you out and give you a break on the price.

UK dude
I payed $26,000 US green for my Aught 6.
Buy one here leve the left hand drive, Put the money in gas.
It is so cool when you pull up to a stop light and someone looks your car over and gives you a thumbs up. But I think that means something different in the UK.

Have a browse through some of these UK sites to see the differance in prices.
If you can provide cars cheaper and still make a profit go ahead.
I had an estimate 0f £22000 to buy and import a new GT and it costs about £800 to have the lights converted to UK standards
I think i might have to wait and get a pre owned Mustang in a year or two :bang:

Euro rules require ECE / EEC regulation approvals. U.S. FMVSS does not easily convert to Euro approvals. But usually countries will have whats called small volume manufacturer rules to bring in a limited number of vehicles and they usually require them to meet some of the countries regs and thats where the conversion can get expensive. Before you buy U.S and ship to U.K, contact yur local motor vehicle authorities for licensing and see what they require from a private citizen to license a US vehicle in the UK. It might be less than the dealer conversions cost because you're only bringing one over.
