Rear end/both tires loud clicking noise
Hi Mustang lovers! I am new to this site and have finally picked up my dream car the fox body Mustang. I picked up a 1989 GT Cobra. While driving you could hear a loud clicking noise coming from the rear passenger tire, it sounded like it was coming from the tire as the sound would increase when accelerating. Well today while driving the noise is now coming from the drivers side rear tire and also sounds like the noise is coming from the rear end along with the passenger rear tire still. The noise is a loud clicking noise and you can only hear it once starting to accelerate through every gear. You can hear rattling loud even at 80kmh. I babied the Cobra Home.
Any of you Stang Members on here ever hear of this or deal with it? Any questions I can answer to help.

To begin, since it's your first post - welcome to the forums and the Mustang family! First thing that came to mind is that you picked up a couple of screws or rocks in the tires. Does it sound like that at all?

Hey thanks Paris MkVI. I dont think it is rocks. It sounds like something is rubbing on a each wheel and the click sound increases when giving gas to the point people you drive by would look from the loud noise. You can hear it clicking loudly in every gear even reverse. Is it something to do with the axle?
Thanks Mustang Freak.
Ya I know and I hear ya. They didn't sell it to me like that. I have just always known the GT's as GT Cobra's from my early 20's but was just a selling gimmick by Ford. I dont have pictures of where the sound is coming from. I am the 16th and last owner of this car. The guy in 2017 that owned it took care of it and work done to the motor. I have a list of the stuff done to the car. Last two Owners after that guy did not take care if it but I will be and love it! The clicking sound us loud and sounds like something is rubbing and going to fly off.
