quick question about '12 gt's
this is my 1st mustang. i ordered it and its supposed to come in around june 14th. I read that the actual hp on the gt is around 340ish instead of the 412... is this true because i will be very bummed if so
412 to the crank which translates to about 360 in an auto and about 370 on the manual. I got this info from a google search. And why would you be disappointed. Is your car a dyno queen or are you actually gonna drive it. Max hp doesn't mean squat if the power doesn't get to the pavement. The 5.0 hauls serious butt right out of the box. And is a far better value than the camaro or challenger. They handle better and weigh less. I suggest you get out and drive spiritedly, with a few wot blasts, then come back and express your disappointment. A dyno hp rating is just a number, the real question is how many hp hit the ground and are they useable. Disappointed. Really

FWIW, the air intake on the new Mustang is pretty good right from the factory. A detail they borrowed from the 2008 Bullitt. And there's also this to consider:

Not a lot of hp gain, but good torque numbers. And 50 state legal, and apparently warrantied by Ford.
