Absolutely!
I have a Canon Powershot SD550 (7.1MP) and although it's just 0.9MP less, it just doesn't hold a light to the optical clarity of the SLR. So, I was just pointing out the fact that sometimes, bigger is better!

I doubt you would be able to tell any difference when it's sized for the web!
