I don't think it'll cost that much. Those airbrush artists (usually at the mall doing the caricature or t-shirts) should draw one for maybe $20(?).

Here's some ideas...

Any idea what kind of prep would be required to paint over clear ?

Well, being that it won't be out in the environment, I'd say a wipe down with isopropyl alcohol should be sufficient.

An idea I got is to use some of those chrome valve step caps at the 12-3-6 and 9 o'clock positions (instead of numbers). Might look pretty cool!

I bought a new part... but for the wrong Mustang!

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...m=220010336060 (Other auctions are it $150 for just the air cleaner assembly with no tubes!)

I saw this set-up on Thursday night at the cruise in an 85 Mustang, and it really looked good. I wanted to take it out of his car, take it home, and install it!

This will take my 89 back to the actual pre-fuel injection set up like in 1983 to 1985... plus it will know have Cold Air Induction, instead of pulling air from the engine area.

Of course, I'll have to change the sticker to "5.4 Liter 4V H.O." since it isn't a 302 any more, but a 331.

That set-up reminds me of my 85 GT, the last year of the carburetor.

But, I think mine only had 1 snorkel... I forgot.

My first carshow is now under my belt.

There was some tough competition out there, I definately had my work cut out for me. But, after the votes were tallied...

1ST PLACE baby!!!

As an added bonus, I got gome serious sunburn.

AWESOME! Were there different classes for certain years, like 87-93, 94-98, 99-04, 05+, etc.? Or, just Mustangs, period.

Looks like I see my rims on some of those GTs.

Lot's of classes... so many, that I got confused!

I do know that 05 and 06's were seperated because of the number of entries.

Yup, saw some Black Bullitts there!

1985 GTs should have had dual snorkels: 79-85 Specs

That's pretty unique in the first picture! Second picture has some pretty crooked exhaust tips!

Come to think of it, I had the duals.

But, that set-up only lasted a few months before I did some engine work.

I'll have to dig up some pics of my old Mustangs for kicks and post them here.

It's funny that I want to go back to a stock looking set-up. I just think it looks so cool and time-relevant (if that makes sense). BTW, you keep saying that about your old Mustang pics...

Mr. Unique actually got 2nd Place. If it weren't for the Shaker and stripes, I'm sure he would've got 1st.

But, he didn't!

I know, I know... I keep my older photo albums at my Mom's house. Next time I'm there, I'll try and remember to pull a few and scan them.

Thumbs up ...

Congrats on the win. I thought your car was the best and cleanest looking of the 05-06 class. I'll post some random pics I took tomorrow when I have time.

Thanks Leo!

The upcoming Queen Mary show in Long Beach will be crazy! I'll be lucky to just place in that one.

Your lucky mine wasn't there!

Just Kidding... you would have won hands down, Bill (I don't clean the inside of my rims).

Wish we had some judged shows around here... instead of just my cruise.

O.K. well I changed my mind here's some pics. Depending on if my car is where I want it to be lookwise I'll be entering that one. Like I said though that's a big if. I still need stripes, gt/cs rear bumper, chin spoiler and maybe some rims and tires.
