Yup. The '96 has the OBDII port and it even says so in the manual. I was going to buy a stand alone code reader when I finally got around to working on it but this is awesome news. I never would have even thought to try it. Thanks Robbie.

You can but the plugs/and pin locations are different on all the manufactures!

Don't think you should worry considering the car is in a garage 364 days out of the year.

Yeah, but I bet that 1 day I drive it, I'll run into a checkpoint.

I like the way Jed's sounds, I think it's a Bassani X with hi-flow cats.

The FRPP-X is good, but really don't feel like cutting & splicing it into the factory midpipe.

I heard that they were starting that. I believe they were trying to start that back in the late 90s.

That's what I have and I like it! It didn't *have* to be welded in, but I did have it welded...

Either way, the check points are all 'voluntary' so you can refuse. The real kicker is that if you refuse they'll keep your license plate on file

Gary - How's life in Texas? Its starting too look pretty good from over here

Brian is also running the FRPP-X. If I go that route, I'd get it welded too.

Changing the mufflers won't make you fail the test.

Yep. Mine is permanent too. I told the guys I don't want it ever to come loose and when he welded it he laid down welding rod in the joint and then welded over that. It won't come loose. Guess that's what happens when you tell that to an A$$hole(me and the exhaust guy go back many years he knows he's an a$$hole and doesn't mind being called one).

I kind of forgot how your exhaust setup sounds like Brian. Do you like it? Drone?

Just a quick price research shows the FRPP X goes for around $125. The Bassani X at around $300. Both are the 'cut & splice' models using your factory midpipe.

So I guess my question is, does the X really sound that much better than the factory H?
