Ponies on The Run (Again)
Wow that sucks.
+1 I still don't think I'll ever understand why if there's beer you can only see top and not bottom. One of life's great mysteries.
Boring vid, hot chick.

Back from Swansons...
We discussed final pricing and all seems acceptable. Only thing that's still in the air is the flywheel issue. GT crank to Cobra crank may be a no-go, which means I may have to get a new flywheel. Danny will check best pricing if I need to get another one.
We also talked about the necessities vs optional stuff, like the shorty headers and clutch. If it can fall within the budget I gave him, I'm choosing to go for the headers, simply because it's the best bang for the buck in saving myself labor hours in the future.
Of course, if he hits my retainer limit sans the headers and clutch, so be it, I'll run the stockers.
I know it's just a few hundred here and there, but my investment thus far (as I told Leo today) could've bought me a very nice used car.
On a side note, he completely re-tuned and coverted a Diablo program to SCT on Body Glove's company 06 GT vert with a I/C Vortech.. table by table and pumped out a conservative 440 to the wheels at a safe 11.0-11.5 A/F. Made me feel good and it's not even my car!
On to the parts...
What I discovered today was that my ~$780 head job included new valves!
So esentially, I'll have new-like heads bolting to my spankin' new shortblock.
What I didn't know.. top end gasket kits costs like ~$380 bucks!
ARP headstuds.. ~$300
OEM oil pump.. $80
OEM windage tray.. $40
oil, fluids, filter.. $$?? (whatever)
That's about it for now. Headstuds had to be special ordered and won't come in until Wed.. so, I'm not sure if he'll hit that 'end of the week' target. But really, whatever, it's too **** close now to knit-pick days, I just need it running **** (srry Monica) when I pick it up.
leftover junk..
refurb'd heads.. good as new!
my old damaged LH head
new shortblock aching to go into the GT
cool bio wash machine getting all the chips/shavings out

Bill, do a clutch...... now is the time while everything's torn apart. Much, much easier than you could do it yourself later. You can do shorties yourself in a few hours, a clutch would be much more involved. Especially if you have to do a new flywheel- a clutch makes perfect sense.
Hey Bill what about your tune? Is Danny going to custom tune your car? Is that included already? That maybe the last surprise, hopfully it's included and you can move on. Danny thinks you have Deep Pockets!

I gotta point this out, if the brautwurst wasnt bad enough, looks like a pretty gay flag next to your hand:gay:
never heard it called that before, but I like it
congrats bill, the TR is so close to being back on the road
I'd say go for the clutch while it's apart, headers will be easier to install later than a clutch will be

My girlfriend and I participated at the Northwest Roundup this past weekend in Bellevue, Washington. It was tons of fun hanging out with great people. They showcased the GT/CS and celebrated it's 40th anniversary. Plus it gave me a chance to sneak back in to the U.S. for a couple of days.

Great pics Ian
The only pic of the new knight rider abomination that looked decent.
Bill, Sorry to hear the issues seem to pile up. It's great that for 800 bucks you pretty much got new heads, so that isn't bad. Do you know if they put better springs on them to or just new valves ? Soon man, soon.
If I can stop by Sunday I will, no guarantees. Saturday evening, what's goin on ? Someone call me in the afternoon, doing moving sh t and I'm sure by the time the afternoon rolls around I'll be ready to stop.
