Ponies on The Run (Again)
The problem I had with my contacts was my fault not theres. My wife and I have had many different phones from many different manufacturers over the years and this is by far the best phone I have ever had and so far way more dependable in functionality and service from my own experience. I had Sprint for about 8 years and made the switch to the iPhone/AT&T about 4 months ago and so far it has been hands down superior for both my wife and I. I called support yesterday when I was trying to do the restore to see if the problem was something I did and they quickly said it was because the servers were unusually busy today(for obvious reasons ) and apologized and before I could say OK he said he credited my tunes account with five free downloads. I was surprised because I wasn't complaining or anything. I know it's not much but it's more than I ever got from Sprint in 8 years. Just his friendly understandable demeanor would have been plenty for me
I'm back!
Long 2 hour r/t drive, but all looks well with the repalcement head. Met with Adam from STM for the first time in person and he came across as a very nice and knowlegable guy.
Adam and his crew definitely gets things done in his shop not wasting any time, for that I give him big kudos. For example, he has this S197 there with a blown motor and in a matter of a few hours, he pulled the motor and installed the replacement all before I got there at noon. And, should be ready to fire up by later today! If Swanson had that kind of speed, I would've had my car -3 weeks ago.
So, where do I stand now?
Danny will send both heads (my RH good one and the LH I just picked up today) to his machine shop guy to have the head double checked and build it up, and also check for deck flatness.
If it took a week to pick up my original damaged head, he may not pick up these 2 until the end of next week!
Yes, I still have my patience as my baby sits in the corner of the shop with my carcover on, but man it's kinda frustrating seeing how close I am.
If I follow my historical timeline, I will not have the car back in time for the R&R show. So if anyone from POTR hasn't registered yet for the show, I may sell you my spot as we get close to the date.
Lesson learned, don't count yer chickens til they're hatched.

I spoke to Danny, that's when he told me the game plan as far as what has to be done to the heads before he builds up the shortblock.
I have to give credit to Danny about that one. As slow as he's moving, he keeps reminding me that he can't (afford) to trust any shops word as far as 'being good' and wants everything to be perfect so when the motor is turned over for the first time, it'll run smooth and perfect.
Yeah, all this sounds great on the QC end, I just hope he delivers.
Yup, I dropped it off straight from STM. Pics were taken at Swanson's parking lot.

Caught myself up on the past 50 pages I've missed(im kidding). My car is finally almost in perfect working condition. Update, the fuel sender wasn't what was bad... it was the entire fuel assembly which was broken in half at the bottom of my fuel tank. yeah, so that ended up costing more then I anticipated. But it's fixed and my fuel guage works perfect, Thanks to Sam @ Coastal Dyno. I plan on having my car re-tuned by him this summer hopefully.
Lastly, is to send in my boost sender? boost control? whatever its called into autometer. If I have trouble Sam said he'd take care of me since I don't have a reciept. Happy with his service thus far.
I have big plans for the car this year, if money permits. Built engine, new rims, big brake kit. Mmm

Forged internals, rims, and BIG brakes.. all winning combinations!
Congrats Bill !! I am really glad you were able to get what you needed quickly and for the most part cheap. The bumpy road you're on just got a little smoother.
seeing the late 05 date stamp on the head... what's the date stamp on your motor ?? They may have built around the same time.

Lookie what I bought today..
A brand new BMR APB and a 'gently used.. ~2k miles' BMR PHB, both for $150.
I shouldn't be spending money on this crap right now, but this deal was too good to pass up.
