We are rockin' & rollin' here in So Cal!

I was on a ladder photographing high school seniors. It was a blast.

All ok here. :nice:

JedCranium 7/29/08 02:07 PM

All cool by LAX! First it sounded like my windows were being cleaned then I realized it was a shaker  I'm on the 11th floor so we were swinging pretty good. Did the usual evac then decided to go to Del Taco so I could make some earthquakes of my own!:rofl2:

Felt it here in SD. No problems to report.

Superfly SN95 7/29/08 03:43 PM

Didn't feel the earthquake. I was rolling in the stang when it happened. I bogged a little in first so I just thought wtf? Now I know why :rofl2:

Glad to hear everyone's okay. :nice:

Iceknyght 7/29/08 04:38 PM

Good to hear the earthquake wasn't too bad for you SoCalers!

I came across something today, an interesting App for those who have an iPhone:

http://www.dynolicious.com/

You can actually download it in iTunes...

polodinks 7/29/08 04:54 PM

how does it read the 0-60 and 1/4 mile? does it connect to anything?

Iceknyght 7/29/08 05:01 PM

It doesn't connect to anything, it uses the built-in accelerometer to compute the info... It says it is pretty accurate... I want to try it just to see... But I don't have an iPhone... Yet...

Yes. That's what I said, or meant to say. That it looks like a white beer at first glance, but then I named it a wheat beer, but of course it IS white. and delicious, and I should have gone with my first guess :nice:

Everyone a bit shaken after that quake? My girlfriend called me in a panic and I laughed and said 5.4 isn't much to get excited for. :p
So how was it?

PS I'm suffering from my first Canadian rainfall since I've been here. :(

I'll have to try and get it... but at 13 bucks, I dunno..... I would think that you would need to secure it to the car somehow to get the best reading... it couldn't be too accurate if it's sliding all over the seat.

Earthquakes? WTF are earthquakes? :dunno:

1 more question will it work only on the iPhone or will it work on the iTouch as well?

GottaHaveIt 7/29/08 07:27 PM

yes click the link its states both
Introducing: Dynolicious

Dynolicious is the first automotive performance meter available for the iPhone and iPod Touch. Dynolicious uses the hardware built-in to your iPhone to measure the performance characteristics of your vehicle. No external wires or equipment is necessary, simply slip the iPhone into a cradle or cupholder and go!
Some of the performance metrics Dynolicious can measure:
  • 0-60 Acceleration
  • 1/4 Mile Elapsed Time
  • Lateral G's
  • Horsepower
Unlike other accelerometer-based performance meters, Dynolicious uses the advanced data-handling and display capabilities of the iPhone to make the most of your performance testing. Dynolicious maintains a history of test runs, showing you averages and trends in your results. Dynolicious also allows you to enter modifications performed to your vehicle, and will instantly show before-and-after results to easily identify gains or losses.

Just checked iTunes and it says iPhone and iTouch... and it needs the 2.0 software...

it should work then for you.

George,

You work at Disneyland right? Thats pretty close to earthquake. I hope Mickeys OK. I wonder what its like on a roller coaster with a 5.4? Probably adds a little more to the experience.
