And Bill I think the FRPP 4.10 war gears are next mod for me. If I have to fight the warden then I'm going big so it may take a few months but when I win it will be good.

I found a good place in Southeast Houston (PSI) that will do it parts and labor for $500.

I'm going out to the car, jack it up and put a it more dynamat under the new MGW I installed. I think its still to noisy. I can hear engine start up noise and transmission noise and road noise even though I used the dyanmat ad sound barrier supplied by MGW. I'll post up some pics when completed Sargent TacoBill

I don't get the dyno goals. Goal 1 is the magical 1 HP per CID. But, goal 2 is just a benchmark figure?
I thought you were using the RWHP/.85 formula? Or was that only for Manual S197's?

You really have to cram the Dynomat under the shifter base until it contacts it on all 4 sides (under the car). Once done, it should quiet things down. If not, just crank up the Shaker with some Linkin Park.

OK done with the re-work of the sound deadening around the MGW shifter. I probably went overboard but I don't like always having to jack up the car and getting underneath it lol

I got the Dynamat from Carolina Classic Trucks cheap, two packs of 10X10 8 total sheets for $13.88. and it got here in 2 days flat.




Here is what the underside of the shift area looks like now that’s its Dynamatted. Much less noise, MUCH

 

For the 87-93 with a T5 manual, it's a 20% drivetrain loss since it's so inefficient.

Goal 1 was the 1 HP to 1 CID, yes. I took 331 BHP and figured out I would need to hit 264.8 RWHP to achieve that goal. (331 x .80 = 264.8)

Goal 2 was the 300 RWHP goal. I took the 300 RWHP and figured out that would equate to 375 BHP. (300 / .80 = 375)

So, I ended up hitting both marks (as Bill already showed ) with 314.24 RWHP, which equals 392.8 BHP. (314.24 / .80 = 392.8) If you figure Torque out the same way (which I can't confirm nor deny), 333.48 at the rear wheels = 416.85 Torque at the flywheel!

Yes Bill I'm addicted, the warden tells me I'm always "playing with your girl friend again" (girl friend = TMS) Which I usually respond just a second honey be right with you.......................yea right

Oh and I've been driving the GT all day with the C&L CAI and BAMA 93R and its totally exhilarating. I can't believe how it feels when your in 2nd gear and you start to cross 4k RPM its like after burners kick in god golly miss molly that’s a good mod.

 

Well, it's a totally different ball game with that car. Here is the engine:

It's carbureted and raw horsepower... no computer... all tuned by me. Jetting, timing, etc. No SCT tuner to plug in. I have to do the research and look at the dyno graphs to determine the springs in the distributor for the advance, stop-bushings for how FAR it advances, the spark plug gap, the carburetor primary jets and rods, secondary jets, idle fuel mixture setting, step-up springs to control vacuum, how soon the secondaries open, rev-limiter, etc., etc....

Plus when I built it, I had to hand pick the cam, the crank, the pistons, the rods, the heads, the intake, the carburetor.... plus I finally found a carbon fiber lined clutch to get all the power to the rear wheels.

THAT's how you get just under 400 BHP!
