That thing never did live up to expectations and now since it has been disassembled, it never was what it was supposed to be in the first place.

This time around I bought a JDM short block with all the trimmings and extra sauce. I also have a reputable shop doing the work.
Looking for a happy ending this time.

Stay tuned.

I ended up getting a 302E (900 hp) instead of the 302EF (600 HP) because I want to push it further in the future, but the 302EF is a really inexpensive way to get a quality built forged stroker.
Hell, the 302E wasn't priced bad either!

That sucks. Really sorry to hear that the builder had done that. What a mess. But it's good that you're putting in a solid bullet now and it should really be stout. I've looked at the JDM SB before. It's got my curiosity all riled up too.

What cams are you running. The 127550s look/sound great but make me think they're too much for the street. I think the next set down are the 127350, which dont require phase limiters/lockouts.....

That guy ripped off a ton of people and then left town. A long sad story that I won't go into here, but I didn't get the worst of it, some folks didn't even get thier cars back.

Something to remember about cams is that the better they sound, the worse they are on the street. If they sound killer good....they probably suck. The cams I am running are the 127300's. The same cam Saleen put in the Extreme. Remember, I have an automatic, so profiles are typically milder. I looked at the 127550's too but pretty much everybody I talked to from JDM to Comp cams said it was not a good street cam and definitley not good for a stock automatic. So my choice was the NSR stage 1 blower cam or the Stage 2 127300's that I already owned. I looked at the specs and the cams are almost identical so I went with what I had. At some point I am either going to go with a built automatic and stall converter or swap it out to a stick. Then I will have more flexibility with cam choices. JDM has some great custom grinds and I will probably go with one of those. They have some pretty impressive stuff out there so I'm definitly going to have a conversation with them before I make any more changes. The other thing is I bought a new 2011 F150 which I totally love. Now that my car isn't a daily driver anymore I may just get stupid wild with it....depends on whether or not I can get it to pass smog the way it is. If not....I'm building a trailer and gettin' nasty wit it.

I've heard the same about the 550s and the 650s... So like you I don't want to get lock outs/limiters or anything that would make it crappy on the street.

Thing is, if I do this a TR6060 would also have to happen. Mainly 'cause I really hate my trans, it's the only part of the car I loathe. SO it'd up the price another several thousand to do that to.

But it's all only money right ?

So put some vids up once she's up and running....

Man I wish that my car was done and that I was in the states. I would definitely make a trip to Cali so that you could take pics of it like yours. I would also pay you for your time too. Like I said those pics are awesome.
