Delete plates- any loss of restriction is good for supercharged applications......... should be a good mod for you.
Hmm, I imagine those need a slight retune once installed.

Even my budget SC kit came with delete plates, which I already had, so I got credited.

Which ones did you go with? Or what do you all recommend. Payday this coming week... I might be tempted enough to buy them.

What about on non SC engines?

Worth the price and labor?

I saw gains when combined with other mods, like UDP's, CAI and tune.

Price not to bad, labor not too bad either.

Not recommended on turbocharged engines. I was going to get them as well before having the car dyno-tuned, but the charge motion plates help with the low-end torque until the turbo spools up completely.

Ah, so it increases port velocity by inducing a slight restriction....like a venturi in a carburator.

remember carburators?

+1. The price is good especially if you look around on the forums for used ones. Install should take no more than a couple hours.

At low engine speeds and light loads, they close to speed the intake charge and induce a tumble effect in the combustion chamber (this actually helps the turbo spool quicker). This also causes the fuel to mix more thoroughly and burn more quickly and efficiently. As the load increases, and at higher engine speeds, the charge motion control valves open fully for maximum flow into the combustion chambers.

Without turbo-lag, superchargers want as much free-flowing air as possible. I don't have MUCH turbo-lag, but it is there... and the plates do help. Once I'm spooled up, the plates are fully open.

remember carburators?
Yep! That's what's in the '89...

I was being sarcastic. The intake manifold supplied by Whipple has no charge motion plates at all, so in effect I had deletes put on... the huge increase I got might have something to do with what's sitting on top of the intake

You know, to be completely honest there was discussion about this amongst the moderators but I killed it- out of respect to Bill. Which by the way, I'm beginning to regret......

Also last week I mentioned a little surprise- well we're doing twin screw blower cams! These are custom made by Comp Cams to Brenspeed's specifications and were actually in Brent White's personal car for testing and development.

Made just for twin screw blowers........ Hope to get those in this week too!
freakin' sweet!
