Ditto nice runs Leo

Hey curious what's your camera mount looks like?

My morning didn't start out as extreme but it was a fun outing, we went on a recon cruise in the Santa Monica mountains. The peeps...Brian, Monica and Steve. George almost made it but had some family responsibilities to take care of. Started out at Krispy Kreme donuts...@ 6:30 a.m.

Drove up Pacific Coast Highway toward Malibu..

PCH is notorious for LA Sheriff's see...

Stop off at this old bar & wine tasting off of Mullholland Hwy. They were closed

Sorry I didn't get much mountain shot's I was busy trying to drive! The road twist and turns the area is very scenic.

We ended up at Galpin AutoSports and later at Galpins restaurant great food!

Nice pics Jed. Looks like a fun time. We'll have to do another once Bill get's boost certified.

Talked to Don last night and it looks like all the ST guy's are heading down to Barona in two weeks (Brian, Luis it's on a Saturday this time so no excuses). Barona sell's Sunoco 100 octane so this will be a good opportunity for me to try out my 100 octane tune. That should get me the 7.6 or better I'm looking for.

Looking at the rules for Qualcomm and Barona looks like the fastest I can run is a 7.5. Anything faster requires roll cage, 5pt safety harness, fire jacket, etc. So look's like even if I get to 7.6 or 7.5 I'll be stuck there since I have no plans for any of the above. My goal is and has been 11's. 10's would be nice but I don't see that happening without a new engine.

Well.... I'll be at ST that Friday. You can probably count me in. Especially since it's a Saturday and I'm not burning any vacation time.

Bet you hit your number @ Barona. Much better track, IMO. Also being further away from the ocean it should be less humid, but then it's also higher elevation. Hell you were so close you could taste it.... and a tenth should be easily doable.... not even counting the 100 octane.

What does that say that we're almost to the point that we need to run roll cages... purty scary, no ?

Yes I did and oh man am I happy... Turns out it was the stupid stock exhaust couplers and the clip/lock that locks the stock mid-pipe in place. Everything else was very tight, at first they couldn't find it, then the clips gave themselves away. Top it off zero dollars. Did I say I was happy ??

Great pics BTW.

It was a fun trip I'd easily do that again. Leaving Galpin and going the 405>118>210>605 was super quick I was pretty surprised how quickly I got home... slight traffic in Arcadia but otherwise piece of cake.

So here are the 6 I took with my iPhone LOL

Yes that is a lambo with a bike strapped on. The crap you see in LA

That Lambo with the bike strapped to the back was classic. That should be against Lambo standard operating procedures!

SN95 Cobra Win.
New Edge GT Win.
Some import Win.

StreetFire was there racing there bosses brand new GTR. I think it ran about 8.4, 8.5 bone stock. There was also a Challenger SRT bone stock running 9.0's.

Anyways best run of the night was 7.705. Except for one run where I got a 7.8 they were all 7.7's. Great thing was I got 7.7's back to back even when hot lapping. I'm very pleased with the car although I still think with a bit less humidity and better track prep I can probably pull a 7.6. As you can see by my best time I only missed a 7.6 by 5 thousandths of a second. Below are some vid's I took. Enjoy.

Timeslip from my best run. (The reaction time is slow because I shallow stage.)
Hey this might be why they recommend a cage, suite etc. What's the emergency equipment like at these tracks? Not trying to stir up any bad mojo. But you have to be prepared when things go wacky. I was talking to a super stock driver at the NHRA finals he keeps a seat belt cutter at his side and a fat fire extinguisher at all times. He runs minimal fuel on each run. He said running a full tank of fuel as if it's going to get your rear traction weight can get you crispy

Saw this little guy at the grocery store today. I don't see a lot of modded stangs in my area so it was nice to see another brother. Met the owner and asked if he takes it to any shows, he said no, bummer. Nice car though.
