What a day..

First thing in order was to attempt to move the drivers side axleback forward to eleminate that riding condition between the hangar rod and frame. I was able to move it maybe 1/4" or so. All was quiet until my ride home this afternoon, I think it shifted back.
I'll whack the tip off that hangar another day and be done with it.

#2, hookup the ipod cable and reconnect the sub cables to the back of the Alpine.
Had to pull the radio for access, but the ipod cable install was a snap. All controls can be made on the touch screen.
Also, when the phone rings, the music mutes and the ringer can be heard thru the speakers.
I have the cable routed into the center console.

Reconnected the sub RCA's, but almost sounds the same (lacking a little bass from the door speakers). Oh well.

Do you have the added bluetooth module for the Alpine deck Bill? Do you just touch the screen on the head unit to accept the call?

Nope, don't have the BT module.

I'm still doing it old school, putting the phone to my ear.

OK I was just curious. I've got it on the JVC it works good, but the phonebook is messed up. I was thinking of trasnferring the JVC deck to my F150 and getting a new head unit for the Stang.

very cool Bill I need to get a nav/iPod controlling unit in mine one day. When I had the chance to snag an alpine I should have. I still have to take care of the squeek in mine. It's driving me crazy but I just don't have the time to climb under the car..... maybe if I did I could get some of that Adams undercarridge spray and clean my chassis....... That would be using my head.

Not too keen on spending close to or over 1K+ to get a good unit. That kind of scratch is for bottom end aluminum.

That oil filter magnet is pretty cool. I need one right now during my engine break-in.

Hey, thanks Jed for letting me use it first.

Nice job on the undercarriage.
I'll give mine a wipedown when I take off my Stinger.. maybe tomorrow.

Yeah a guy has to keep his undercarriage clean for the ladies. You never know when you'll get lucky.

Lots of nice decks out there Gary. Just have to find one with the features you like. I'm just an old time Alpine fan.

So do you know if it's the same issue as mine? For some stupid reason, the drivers side hanger rod tip is closer to the frame than the passenger side even though the tip protrusion out of the bumper cutout is the same on both sides.

My tips slightly stick out further than before, I like it this way now. The "racing' can now be seen past the bumper, where as before, it was almost flush.

Only solution I see is to completely remove the Stinger off the car and hack off maybe 1/2" off the rod to be on the safe side.

I've seemed to have lost my Alpine hookup (or at least he's not returning my e-mails ) or I could have got the same deck as mine for a little over 6 bills for you.

But I agree, any money to fund a fortified bottom end is and will be well worth it.

I was thinking of getting a hands free unit like I have in the Highlander it works great. Heck with a stick its mandatory Not sure if I want to spend what I did in the Highlander or just get a visor unit . As John McCain say's "Times are tough" But them I think of what Obama said and..."Yes we can".

Bill I'm a big time Alpine fan. Have had many a deck. I just went cheap this time. Still got the 2 Alpine PDX amps in the trunk though. Maybe I should get an Alpine to make it an all Polk MOMO/Alpine car?

I don't know if I have the same issue I haven't been able to look to be honest. I'm hoping at least it's close, it gives me a place to start.

Nav units.... Really I don't know which I prefer up to the Mustang the first thing to go into my car was a Kenwood unit. Between all the different units I can't really decide I need to use one first or different ones to find the one I like. But I'm going to be hard headed.... TV, New Computer and a bottom end all have priority.
