If caring is a crime, then I'm guilty.

Believe me, I don't want you, Tom, or Jed to be wrong.

If you feel good about your plan, then stick with it. I just wanted to get across all the options to you when the heart is opened for upgrade, and mainly to keep an open mind and not trust the opinion of just one shop.

Heck, if 4 out of 5 builders recommend to stick with the stock crank, I'll just shut my mouth.

I'm still looking for an extra $2.5k for wheels and tires.

Above reply to Brian applies to you as well on the crank issue. To add, depending on your mileage at the time, you may want to consider a valve job too.

And everyone here please remember the words in BOLD so we can later say, "But Tom, didn't you say...".

hahahaha, you can mark my words on that. Believe me, with this new clutch and the current power level, getting squirrely going into 4th gear is a tad scary on the Nittos.

What the heck took out this Mustang? A Geo Metro or something?

The guy video taping is pretty annoying.

Very true, but I was just curious what that little car was. It did look kinda funny taking out that Stang.

Sure, plus machining costs and probably a three week backlog at the machine shop.

Substitute for additional engine displacement??????

BOOST.

don't know how accurate this is but I understand that when you bore it out you loose the knock sensors. That is one of the reasons I'd prefer to keep the stock block and displacement.

Then again until I hand over the cash, nuthin' set in stone.

You got me on that one.

On the stock block, the sensors are just bolted onto the bosses below the intake manifold, so not sure how boring the cylinders has anything to do with them.

from what I've read and heard going to a larger motor, 298, 302, 331... etc or 0.020 over you loose the stock sensors. Maybe you can get that with just stroke. My guess is that at some point you have to bore it, there lies my easy-out with the accuracy part. I know it has something to do with it but what exactly

Let's just say, whatever I can do to keep the stock sensors, that's the road I want to go down.

OH... BTW.... let's hop you don't get a '09 manifold. on S197 someone has a 09 intake and it looks like the Charge motion plates are built into the manifold and are part of the plastic. When I get home I'll shoot you the link. The pics went up w/o description and just looking at them that's what it looks like..... there could have been additional posts to the contrary since.
