Bill once you get running we can blow through 500 miles in two weekends. Maybe that Calabasas ride then a return leg through the Santa Monica mountains and Malibu. Throw in a Cars & Coffee trip ba-da-bing 500 miles!

Agreed...it is not optimum, but an inch or so is no big deal either way. What happens when you have a wider tire on a narrower wheel is that the center of the tread runs hotter than the outside of the tread, thus promoting excessive heat buildup and tire wear in the center of the tread. This is easily measured with a tire pyrometer. You can compensate for that (to a degree) by running the pressure a bit lower to bring the shoulders down to meet the ground at the same unit load as the center of the tire and be fine. Now too much and you start sacrificing the structural integrity of the sidewall, but like I said, an inch or so is no big deal. Now in extreme cases like hella high speed or heavy loading/towing and or high ambient temperatures it can become critical. Again, this is where the tire pyrometer will tell the truth and you can base your decisions on that reality. If the center is running waaaay hotter than the shoulders and you've dumped a considerable amount of pressure, you may be in for a failure.....it's a lot like the redline on your tach.....keep inching it up until the rods comes out the bottom and then back it down a hundred RPM......

I would like to paint the 2-piece intake ducting. Stock looks 'okay', but with the plastic mold line and imperfections visible, looks kinda cheap.

Looking at the attached pic, what color would be the best choice in my engine bay?
I was thinking a low-gloss black, but open to other ideas.

 

I think other than black, matching red would be the only other obvious choice. I think both would look good but I would go with red myself. I think it would add a nice look.

 

I like silver but I can see how it might take away bling from your centri. This is on Jason's car that he brought to Ricky & Ronnies. I was thinking of doing the same to the Kenne Bell intake. If they made a carbon fiber version I would buy that.

I vote for leave it as is for right now and redirect that money to wheels and tires.

red is the obvious non black choice, Id stick with black though. You've already got a lot of red in the engine bay, and red is one of those colors that it is easy to go overboard with just a little more, IMO.

 

The silver does look good, but that's probably because the intake manifold is also silver.

Red might be too much. I think I hit my limit on red when I got the radiator cover and side extensions.

Leo, new wheels and tires are still on my top list. If not for my current situation, I'd be already rollin' on the CS69's.

 

Well if that's the case....I vote for black. Red would be to much.
