Ok,
There are a lot of Mustangs out there. We here seem to be a sort of brotherhood. Unfortunatley, most of the "stangers I meet on the street don't seem to "feel the love" and usually want to race.
Anyone out there have any stories good or bad?

I don't think I've ever had anyone try to race me, but then again my stang is SLOW! Most of the people I see driving mustangs don't even acknowledge me. The only person who's ever said anything to me at a stoplight was a guy in a older corvette convertible.

I usually don't even pay attention if it's stock. When I see it's modified I make an effort to give a thumbs up or try and pull up along side it at a light. I actually get more non-stang drivers talking to me at lights or when walking to or away from the car.

Last night a guy in an SN95 rolled next to me and revved it a couple of times. After the third rev, I heard a loud "pop". At that point, he coasted to a crawl and I just drove by (kind of sad actually).
Personally, I can't go a week without someone wanting to race. Half the time it's either rice or a Camaro. The rest of the time, it's another Mustang.
I'm just trying to find the love...

Regardless of what year or model I usually try to acknowledge any Mustang owner.
Unfortunately most people don't give any eye contact, intentionally or not.

I notice Mustang owners may also be 'cliqu-ish'. You'll see the classics guys all notice other classic stangs, foxes notices other foxbodies, then the sn-95 and current generation owners are harder to distinguish as ones that truly feel part of the 'brotherhood' because there are so many out there right now.

I agree x21,most all the compliments I've ever had on my car were from people that do or have owned a fox body. I however try to acknowledge or compliment no matter what. Or I get kids that will say "Kool car Dude"!

Thumbs up... Sofar I haven't met any Mustangs actually wanting to race. Then again, Mustangs are a lot rarer here, and thus more 'thumb up' material

I work at a local auto parts store and a lot of Muatangs owners come in. we always talk and compare note. Have made a lot of friends because of the car that we have in common. We share information and have nothing but genuinely good things to say about each others cars. Although, I do run into a few that are genuine ***holes and think that none is better then theirs or that they know more then anyone else. I usually blow them off and move on. When I see any Mustang on the road I acknowledge them with a thumbs up and usually get one in return.
