new paint

thinking about getting my mustang repainted. there are a few bad spots from rock chips and random misshaps. if i take a loan out to do it then i can build my credit. plus i want to get the front bumper painted black in some spots. i love the color so id get it done the same color. i plan to keep my car so thats not a worry, what do yall think?

So youd be getting it repainted black, or just the bumper? Either way, i think it would look sweet. Personally, I'd save the money and use it to find a GT in the color you want. Not being a pri**, that's just what I would if I were gonna spend that much $. But if you're attached to your car, and can afford the paint job, then more power to you! . Did you get any quotes on the paint job?

I'm gonna have car painted same color, satin silver, and I'd have a few accents painted black. Like this pic where the bottom of bumper is black in the center & between the grille & headlights

I posted a few days ago but I have no problem doin it again.
Having spoiler removed, holes filled from spoiler & fake gas cap. Also having the 3rd brake light shaved. Having front pillars & bottom center of front bumper painted black. Getting 3" cowl hood. Shop told me 3500 then plus 600$ for hood & squirter relocation kit. I think that's everything

If I could throw you a piece of advice regarding safety. I got my 3rd brake light deleted by adding a ducktail. However CDC makes a 3rd Brake light that goes on your back window on the ceiling, they call it the High Mount Brake Light. That way you can have your cake and eat it too. I've had one in my stang for going on 5 years now, so I can attest to good quality manufacture.

Otherwise, sounds like an awesome plan! Can't wait to see the results when you're done!

I don't see a problem getting rid of the one center light. I'm still going to have the ones on the sides of the rear bumper and my taillights are atleast stock brightness if not brighter. Plus my rear tint is limo. Oh well I'm definitely going to update you guys as soon as I get her back!!!

I'm excited to see the results! Does that price include any repainting of the car beyond the area around the spoiler and taillight work? I think you said something earlier about getting rock chips fixed or something up front?

Thats a complete external paint job the same color, that away they don't have to worry about the door jambs and what not. I know they have to paint the bottom of the hood & the trunk after they weld the holes.

I agree, it never hurts to add the High Mount Brake Light simply for the added safety. It may not be necessary, but it's a good way to decrease the chance of being rear-ended after covering up the 3rd brake light. Just a suggestion

Regardless, I love the route you're going with your Mustang and I look forward to seeing pictures when you're finished with this new wave of mods. You've got an awesome Mustang, SilverSkoundrel!

Cool man. Looks like a good project. The cowl induction hood is my favorite also. Someone posted a pic of black accents painted on the sides of the cowl that looked really good too. Just an idea.
