A guy from my job picked up a Black 05 GT with black interior and 5 speed. Sounded sweet. He's always liked my Mach so fellow mustang guy to another. Oh and this is his first mustang. Prior to this he had a Honda Prelude that he had as a "project".He got the GT 2 weeks ago and brought it into work today. So we start talking and decide to run twice. From a Dig and roll...

From a dig.... I had it from the start and kept it up until end of 3rd gear. Hit up about 95.... i had the lead maybe about 3 cars.... my mach is stock too.

From a roll it was closer... Im guessing it was closer because he spun out a bit. He just got the car so I told him to get more used to it and well run again in a few weeks.

Great car... looks clean and very luxurious inside. Only thing is that he got it with no wing and the basic wheels. He plans to start modding soon....

No offense, but I am also ordering my Stang with no wing and the basic bullitt wheels. I think the factory wing and optional wheels look like crapola, but that is JMO.

Obviously if this guy was driving a Honda previous to the GT, he is not going to be used to 300+ hp, which you duly noted in your post.

I appreciate the honesty, and let me say, I give props the the Mach, it is a sweeet car!

Looking forward to future runs between you two.

Oh, forgot to mention, I wondered one thing about your post...

If you were way ahead of him from "dig" and then you were closer from a roll-on, then why do you say the roll-on was closer because he spun out a bit?

It should be the other way around. Shalom.

street racing = :nono:

Good runs. The only Mach i've been in is Evil_Capri's on this board and its fast. I think it'd take my cobra n/a with no problems. I havent had a chance to tangle with an 05 yet, but I would really like to.

2 replies..... yeah I meant from a dig he spun out. Its a world a difference a 300hp american car to a Japanese 4 banger. So it was a bit closer with the roll. To be honest I didnt push it that hard either. I never redlined..... just went about 5800... when the Mach can give optimum tq at about 6200.

About the NA aspirated cobra... yes and no. The 94-99 cobras are easy to deal with. But the 2001 is a driver's race. I still give the Cobra the advantage on the top end. I raced a a buddy in his 2001. He had a Borla catback and bassani x-pipe and k&n filter... and it was really tied. I would launch better due to the fact of the crappy IRS of the Cobra... but still give those cobras props. To be honest I would like to keep the Mach a daily driver in 2006-7 when the new Cobra shows up.... SVT is still SVT.

I originally wanted a Cobra but the extra 8 grand seemed to much.... we'll see what happens.

Yeah when I first got on this site about a year ago... my daily driver was a 2000 V6 Coupe. I got the Mach about Feb 2004. I dont even have the V6 anymore.... I traded it for a 2002 GT Coupe, which is now my daily driver. Actually the reason the V6 is no longer with me was because the engine died and I got pi**ed off. I had like 20 problems with that car. So a buddy manager at a Dodge dealership got a 2002 GT and he gave me an incredible deal so I jumped on it. I should update my sig.... shouldn't I????
