Maybe this publicity will get people thinking about how to produce more fuel efficient cars.

I am very optimistic but that would be awesome if true. I want to know who wins the 10 million!

Another interesting point is that E85 has a lower thermal value. That means when you run an alchohol based fuel your milage goes down not up.

Read the article I posted. It clears up a lot. It says he gets 80mpg with E85. More with regular gas.

Sorry SuperSugeKnight, I miss post #19 completely. That makes a lot more sense.

I wouldnt be surprised if this was true, and I also wouldnt be surprised if they buried this as well.

I don't buy it. The whole auto industry has thousands of engineers who work to get just a few more miles per gallon and one guy claims he can more than double their work?

Which leads me to three conclusions.

Either his design is...
A. expensive
B. impractical
C. unreliable

(per) Gallon of what?

He's using some sort of alternative fuel. Probably bio-fuel with a gallon of gas mixed in, lol.

Ah... Arrow... you might be on to something. His car is running E85. Therefore only 15% of the fuel is actually gas. I have heard some claims of 133 MPGoG (Miles Per Gallon of Gas) when the car gets 20 MPG on E85.

As it was pointed out to me earlier post 19 explains that he is claiming 80 mpg on E85 and better on gas.

Talking

I liked the 400hp and 500ft/lbs the best. Here is something from another forum.

He claims 110MPGe on E85 ethanol. That "e" is EXTREMELY important! He is claiming 110MPG on GASOLINE, he is conveniently leaving off the other 5 GALLON of ETHANOL consumed along with that 1 gallon of gas.

He gets 16.5 ACTUAL MPG

This guy needs to be chained to his bastardized 'Stang and dragged down the street. He's not running on pure gasoline yet he's boasting his claims as if he were. He hasn't found some "miracle solution" for making a pure gasoline tank give 110mpg. Of course, the big giveaway is that the dude isn't speaking correctly (intentionally or not). He's saying "110 mpg" when it's actually "110 mpgE". MPGe = MPG Equivalent.

Wikipedia: Miles per Gallon of Gasoline Equivalent (MPGe) is a unit of measurement that relates efficiencies of different systems to the traditional unit of measurement for fuel efficiency.
MPGe makes sense...but saying "MPG" is entirely misleading. That said, even a 110 MPGe rating isn't earth shattering. If he had said MPGe at the beginning, he probably wouldn't have made it on any news report.

This guy also needs to pwn up on his performance declarations. I call BS on all of it. Ethanol has been known to perform better in some cars, but not to the extent that it blows the doors off of gas running.

Let's all send huge tons of spam to his email.

Ethanol, well...as long as we keep drinking beer there'll be plenty of that.

So let me try to understand this. 110MPGe of ethanol is the same as 77 MPGe of gasoline? Which is the same as 77 MPG?
