Mustang 50th birthday at Charlotte Motor Speedway

I just heard today that the Mustang 50th birthday celebration for the east coast will be held at the Charlotte Motor Speedway in Concord, North Carolina in 2014. They haven't set the exact date yet. The gala will be hosted by the Mustang Club of America. Hope to see many of you down in my neck of the woods.

Disaster, Easter weekend and they are splitting the country with 2 shows..... The dates were set, Vegas and Charlotte... one show not 2 splitting the country is not the way to celebrate this huge celebration...IMO..

That's intersting. I think I will have to go to this. Would have been nice to do it at Dearborn Mich. But North Carolina isn't bad either

The problem is choosing.... Which Show, not only for us but for vendors etc. I would like the "chance" to meet everyone thats going including those from other countries. Now we are choosing and we wont have that chance to meet again, at least on this scale...

Dave, come on over to the east coast. At least we don't have the one armed bandits, so you can use your money to buy more Stang Stuff.

Yep, I'm bummed too that they chose two separate locations for it, especially since I'm pretty much in the middle (Kansas City) of both. I would have preferred Dearborn, Sturgis, Mustang OK or even a racetrack like Road America.

At first I disagreed with you saying BIG Disaster, but after the explanation I can see how vendors would probably favor one to the other.. I WILL go to Charlotte for sure..

I might consider this. I wonder if they'll let everyone run the track like they do (or did) for the GoodGuys shows. I've driven on it twice, but it's been awhile. I'd be up for that if they did.

I'm not sure if they will let you drive the track Dan. Sometimes they will. Problem is they had a big get together for the Vietnam Vets in March, and somehow some of the Vets were riding the wrong way around. Of course the inevitible happened, and two people were killed. I can't imagine the lawsuits that will come up because of this.
