i dont mind the cost on the original 100% stock shelbys, boss's etc, but i hate, hate HATE when clones get so much $$ its a real shame.

but nice cars there (cept the E :notnice: )
Most of people can't even tell difference between original and replica.

Sad thing is, I'm one of them.

Just check the VIN, use the timeline, very helpful
I've seen a convertible go for 1.2 million a while back, wish i could show proof, it finished with a ton of bids. I found it in completed listings, it was a candy apple red 69 shelby GT500 convertible.

I wonder how much an eleanor clone would be fetching.

I still can't believe they get more than legit '67 Shelby's
I tried to get me a 67 fastback before deciding on a new 06 GT. I went to a local mustang restoration shop and they told me it's near impossible to get one to rebuild and if I did it would be at a premium price. He said everyone's buying them up to make Eleanor clones! That really stinks. The Eleanor car looked great but personally I'd rather just get hold of a decent 67.

at this summers barrett-jackson someone bought a 67 gt 500 that was not painted the original color, the 428 CJ was replaced with a NEW 427, the auto trans was replaced with a 5-speed and the interior was re-done non stock. this car went for $175000. for whole lot less you get a 67 fastback and build/have someone build the same car. it wouldn't be an original shelby, but neither was that one.
umm sorry to inform you that the 428 cj didnt come out till 68, and wasn't put into shelbys till 69, if there was a 428 in it previously, it has had more than one engine swap
