Miles to empty display not correct.

Hi all. I had the fuel pump replaced under fords TSB with it showing empty when infact there was as much as 1/2 tank still in it. I have had that problem fixed now but I have a problem still I think. When total top off the dash says that I have apx 250-260 miles to empty. but it used to show 300-315 b/4 the repair. Iknow it is not a big deal really but I would like to know what other people get on their dash display just for the hell of it. It always showed apx 302 easy to remember 302 CI but now its way off anymore. just would like your input thanks in advance for your input.

How many tanks of gas have you filled up since the repair?

Just curious

the miles to empty is based on the mpg of the car.

Well I've got an 07 GT and I usually get about 220 miles on the display but then again I average about 14 mpg too.

depending on how you drive. If you drive it for mpg you can get over 20 mpg. If you play around you will get less then 15 mpg. just look at the avg mpg display on the dash and multiply that by 14(gallons).

so 14 gallons X 15 mpg = 210 mies to empty

Hello COYOTE DAVE,

Driving habits and conditions can definitely cause your MPGs to change. I recommend you bring it in to your Ford dealer for diagnosis. Please let me know the outcome.
