McQ and Bullitt

McQ and Bullitt
I watched the old John Wayne movie, McQ today. I'd never seen it before. It dates back to the early '70s. John Wayne's McQ character did drive a nice looking Trans Am, but it surprised me when it sounded like a Mustang. I figured out they used the soundtrack for Bullitt's Mustang for McQ's Trans Am. Not only that, but McQ's Brewster Green Trans Am is very close in color to Highland Green. And McQueen could be shortened to McQ. Coincidence? I think not.

Interesting and am not a bit surprised, but I don't believe I've ever gotten through the entire movie.
Here's a couple trivia tidbits from imdb.com;
Originally intended as a vehicle for Steve McQueen. It was heavily rewritten for John Wayne.
The movie was heavily influenced by Bullitt and Dirty Harry.
Although John Wayne claimed he made this movie because he regretted turning down Dirty Harry, it has been suggested that he was never actually offered the earlier movie due to his age.
