Manual or Automatic trans

1st off I can drive a stick, but is rather make more power and not have to manually shift. But, will it make a difference in horsepower with a Manual trans. Or can I just spend a little more and put some good stuff under the hood?

Auto always leaches more power. Less fun IMO also

I have the auto in my 2014 V6 and am very happy with it. I sold my Honda S2000 to make room in the garage for my Mustang. I loved driving my S2000 but my Mustang is way more comfortable and is still a lot of fun. I can shift when I want to but don't HAVE to if I don't want to. Since I'm not a drag strip guy, my V6 produces more than enough power to put a grin on my face. I haven't looked at the acceleration times of the auto vs the manual, but I suspect they are not that much different. Buy what makes you happy.

Modern auto trans don't rob as much power as in the old days.
It really depends on what you like and how you use it.
Personally I found the autos a little annoying because I didn't have the same control as a manual.

SVO500, just get what you like. You can make anything as powerful as you want. If you prefer shifting then it is a no-brainer. Personally I like BOTH so I have BOTH, plus I prefer a 5 speed over a 6 speed which is why I have an '07 GT. I sure don't take my GT to Atlanta during rush hour though. My left leg would be bigger than my right. Atlanta is automatic time in the T/A. What do you want??

Soooo true. Plus it gives you more of the "race car" experience

I was new to the mustang world about a year ago, also never drove a manual either. I manual over auto was low on my list of things... mine was 5.0...and affordable. Well i met those two criteria and it just so happens my car is an auto. I see a lot of traffic lights on my daily commute so in a way for me it seems better to have an auto. But there are times i wish i had the control of a manual.

The difference between an auto and a Manuel is the auto drives you and you drive the Manuel. I prefer the Manuel much more fun.

I got the best of both worlds. A six speed and an auto. Can't complain in Vegas.

^^This. Depending on how you plan to use the car will get your best answer. If you're planning to commute everyday in heavy traffic with the car, a manual may not be the way to go... But if you only plan on it being the fun or weekend car, then the manual would probably be more fun...

I have owned manual and auto Mustangs and both were great, but because my car is now a dedicated "fun" car, I went for the manual this last time around. I love the control... My last Mustang was an auto and a big part of why I sold it and bought the new car was that I missed the shifting...

All our vehicles are manual transmissions and luckily I don't have any heavy traffic to commute through... In the end, get what is going to make *you* happy...
