I am not sure where to put this but I wanted to get a good bit of traffic. I am in the process of redoing my mustangs bedroom (garage) and wanted to use license plates. So, here goes, if any of you have any old (by old I mean just not on the car) license plates that you would like to get rid of for free and would be willing to mail to me. I would love to have them. If so please pm me and I will give you my address.

Thank you very much,

Tony

P.S. When you tell me how dumb this is or otherwise flame me, please be kind .

Although yours is a fair request and probably without any malice, there is personal information associated with license plates regardless whether they are expired or not. One has to have a financial death wish to provide such an opening which would disclose sensitive information to a stranger.

No flames or insult intended.

You go over to the crackhouse after dark and you can have all of em you ever wanted- there has to be 20 junked cars there. Just be careful not to get set on fire.

Bullitt, I suppose you are right. I certainly dont want anyone to do anything that would make them uncomforatble. None taken, you just looked at from a different perspective.

Galaxie, thanks for the suggestion

April, after hearing you talk about that place i think i will leave that alone.

Mods could you please remove this thread.

I don't know, here in California the plates go with the car, about the only info you'd get is the make, model and year of the vehicle.

I have two floating around here someplace, both front plates I never bothered to put on. Would be kinda cool to have one from every state.

I don't know about any legal or identity protection issues with this, but if you know someone at a dealership's used car department, maybe you can get plates that way. The one I used to work at had plates from several different states on the wall in the detailer's area since they had to change to our state's plates when re-selling a vehicle that was traded in. From what I understand though, they were supposed to be destroyed. The e-bay solution sounds best, though.
