Last month a guy I worked with in Germany won a charity auction on ebay for a 2005 Saleen Mustang his winning bid was submitted late at night but was for 3k and some odd dollars yes under 4k dollars, my first question was it a car or a diecast but he assured me it was a car and should find out when I see him next month in Texas, if its the real thing or a scam.
I hope its legit, but I almost feel I paid too much for mine if it is.
Any one hear of an auction like this, although if you had I'm sure all of us would have been willing to up the bid past 4k.

Find the auction story hard to believe. Maybe he was scammed.
The 67 GT for $5000 type listing is a well known scam. Usually involves a phony escrow service they say they've used often. You put the money in escrow to get them to ship the car, they take the money and run. If you decide to use your own escrow service, they'll disappear and go find someone else.
Other scams just try to get a down payment direct and don't bother with the escrow fraud.
If it seems to good to be true...
