I am in a bit of a dilemna!!!
I am debating between a 96 Mystic Cobra or a 05 Mustang.....it sounds like it could be an obvious answer but any help (pro or con) would be great!!!

Unless price is a consideration, and it doesn't appear to be, the 2005 is the obvious answer. It's a newer and much better car, but I think you already know that. Good luck with whatever choice you make.

It will be a daily driver.
i will be going into college and wont have much money to trick it out so performance would be nice but newer could be better since i could get warranties and stuff like that...and on the other hand i have a chance to buy a mystic lol  But if i got an 05 it would be a v6...if i could have the chance i would get a gt over all of them but just dont have the money right now...maybe when i get out of college and have a job!!!!

If you are still in school, i am assuming you are under 25 and single. Check insurance on the Cobra compared to the V6 coupe.

The 05 V6 still has plenty of power; we rented one for the week when we went to Tampa over the holidays last year. And as you already pointed out, it comes with a warranty.
Besides, in four years when you graduate and start making gobs of cash, you can sell the V6 and get an 05 Shelby!

What shape is the Mystic in now?
If it already has some dings and scratches and you plan on re-doing it after college get it.
What you don't want is a perfect Mystic. College=drunk people who don't car about your car.
My wife had a '68 coupe at Lafayette College for three years. I know what happens.
