Between midnight and dawn hours, northbound I-95. I think they were around the daytona area, but I'd have to really press them to find out. My guess is if it happened as they said, it might have rolled off and into the deep woodlines. Really, I hope that when they get here, I've been made a fool of and that shiny 69 will be giving me that beautiful quad headlight stareback.

well, they are here, and well- with an empty trailer. But some parts for the 69- the bumper, gauge cluster, even an 'extra' grille. Their backtracking produced zilch. they said it was about a 45 min window when it probably had fallen off and my dad swears he felt nothing in regards to it falling off. I'll get more details at which specific exit later. They turned an 8-10 hr trip into darned near 21 hrs, so folks are getting rest now.. The ratchet straps on the trailer itself are still even tightened as if the wheel was still there. had a temporary exhaust for it, but on its way of, the car bent it- thats the only hard evidence that it even made an exit.
I'm also not the only onbe with a 'big' loss. That laptop had some info on it for my dad, as well as his clothes for the quick trip, and some of my old clothes i left at my folks place too. Even if the car didnt survive the 'drop off' i am hoping some of that managed to survive.

Ok, talked to my folks- they said the mustang was still on up to Martin county, but at Smyrna beach they noticed it was not. So somewhere in between Martin county and Smyrna, again, going North.

Wow. I'm speechless. I really hope this works out for you somehow. Someone has to find something.
I guess even resto projects need a lojack these days...

You think YOU have trouble believing it? At least I can live with the car being smashed up or something, but this- this is ridiculous. what sucks is that the span it was lost on covers at least 2 different fhp troops and several counties.

already been thought of....and I really think thats what it is too. We should know within a week or so if a complete car is not recovered. If some kind of insurance adjuster or policeman comes to your house to talk to you about it....take a picture of them so we can figure out if its a disguise!

The only two real possibilities are:
1) This guys full of ****.
2) He's going to be on overhaul or similar style show.
Either way I'll stay tuned to thread to see how it ends.

Well, trust me, i'd rather not even have asked other than I know several people on this forum are from FL. I'm not looking for any kind of sympathy either, no need to boost my thread count, nor any kind of monetary support. The main reason is so people who live near or travel regularly on I-95 between those two areas can keep an eye out for that 69 GT. And as well as I know my folks, I am more willing to believe that cockamamy story before I'd think they'd set me up for one of them car-fixer shows- I just know them that well.
