Having a 5.0 mustang I have always drooled over and wondered how a 5.0 with a supercharger has a 8 sec 1/4mile. So I know the cobra jet shares 75% of the internals of a stock Gt and has a race specific transmission. So what kind of 1/4mile times could I(or any one) expect from upgrading there pistons, rods, cam shafts and slapping a supercharger on it? I know theres more to it than just this such as the transmission, gearing, drive shafts etc. I have always dreamed of making my 5.0 a sub 10 second car!

 

Pretty sure the CJ also weighs about 3000lb. Everything that's not necessary for racing is stripped out of the car. That, suspension and transmission play a huge part. Also, slicks and skinnies.
