how about supercharging an auto trans convertable?
Am I nuts to consider doing this? Has anyone done it?
It looks like all of the kits are for Manual transmission Mustangs. Still looking around but I am interested in the Ford Racing 525HP 2.3 Whipple. I would like to find out if the kit contains everything needed and if this involves a fuel pump upgrade etc.
I know I couldn't race the car at the track. Heck, I can't do that anyway. They make convertables have a cage if you run less than 14secET.
With my accelerometer I have done a 12.7 111mph with the trunk loaded with groceries
. < safely on a closed, straight, flat road >

I have a GT auto and run this Roush supercharger kit for the 2011-14 which can be ordered for either the auto or manual transmission and comes with all the necessary parts:
http://www.roushperformance.com/part...arger-Kit.html
However, you will need your PCM flashed for the new calibration which comes with the SC kit. If you don't have anyone local, Roush can do the flash for a labor-only charge.

Thanks. did you need to upgrade your fuel pump? I read the stock pump is ok but the injectors are upgraded.
Your welcome. Stock fuel pump is retained and works fine, the phase 1 SC also comes with a new fuel injector kit that replaces the stock injectors.

good to know. my concern now is the PCM. I have a Ford Racing dealer 11 miles away. I will check with them to see what services they offer.
