At $150k, only the wealthy collectors can afford to put one away. I don't see the excitement personally. I'd rather just have my own Shelby without the Hertz label that simply translates to 'beaten'.

I Think Average Peoples Attitudes Toward Any Future Purchases on Anything Are Going To be a Whole Lot Less Based on a Celebrity or Brand Name! If You Have Two Cars Side By Side With The Same Capabilities and One Has a Premium Price Simply Because of a NAME. I Think The Average Guy is Gonna Go More Cost Effective on The Whole!
Recent Events Have Certainly Soured Me on Celebrity Opinions or Endorsements! And That's Just My Take! God Love and RIP Ol Shell But in The End He Would Sign a Turd For a Buck!
Oh an On a Side Note I Know From Stories How Rental Cars are Treated! The Original Hertz Cars Had Midnite Auto Engine transplants From The Hi-po 289 To Any Running 260-289 That Would Bolt in! Also Many Had Racing Exploits and Came Back From Rentals With Hastily Removed Roll Bar Mountings! Just Saying!
The minute I see celebrity endorsements I'm out never ever been swayed by them I could care less. The last time I checked they put their pants on the same way one leg at a time. The athletes/actors who I like I like because of their body of work but that's it, it goes no further like idol worship nonsense.

It would really have to be unique for me to get excited about a car owned by someone famous. If a Steve McQueen owned Mustang Bullitt was for sale, yeah for sure if I had the crazy $$$ needed, Also a Barry Newman (Kowalski) owned 1970 Challenger. Of course there are no such animals. I couldn't imagine what something like that would go for. Millions!!! I'd love to watch an auction like that. The fever pitch would be unreal.Fun to dream.

If I had an extra $150K floating around, I would use that towards an original low-mile or fully restored "68" Shelby GT500... Or I could just buy a 2020 GT500 for far less than $150k for what their asking for one of those used Shelby GT500/Hertz models which we all know were more than likely abused and beaten to the core...
