Help me decide?
Hello all,
I've been living in Japan for almost 10 years now, but a recent family tragedy might bring me home to Detroit in a few months.
I grew up in a Ford family, so I have a black 2011 GT here. I was thinking about shipping it back to Michigan, but after some research, it looks like it would be much cheaper to just get a new Mustang back home.
I haven't seen any 2013 Mustangs in person, only pictures. I'm not really sure that I like the front end of the car yet, mostly because I'm not a fan of HID housings on the 2010-12s.
I did find a new 2012 with most of the options I want and the price is right. The timing is a little off though, since I won't be home until December at the earliest. I'm considering just buying the 12 and storing it until I get back.
So... It's just opinion, but if you were me would you choose the 2012 or go for the 2013? Is the 2013 really awesome in person? Do the 2012s look old now that '13s are on the roads?

The '12 is better looking from the front, and the '13 is better from the rear, IMO. It's the taillights of the '13 that really do it for me. They're awesome.
BUT, I imagine it's only a matter of time before Raxiom et al. start making 2013 look taillights for the 10-12 body style, and for me that would be the combo I would choose personally.
There's also the interior/tech options to think about too though. I'm not an expert on it because my '06 doesn't have anything in the way of tech options really but my understanding is that the 13s have things like sync, track apps, etc etc that the 11-12s don't have or are only optional or something like that.

Thanks for the replys!!! PMs too!
It's actually a pretty hard decision for me...
You guys might think I'm crazy, but I disliked the HIDs on my '11 so much that I changed them out for halogen housings... I think they look more retro and that the HIDs made the car look a little cross eyed. The new HIDs seem better and the new nose gives them more balance. I really wish I could see one in person though....
There are some things that I love on the 2013. Those taillights are awesome! I suppose I could always retrofit me when the price comes down and there is always Raxiom as well...
I like the new hood, but the power dome is cool too. The track apps are nice as well... it looks retro, but with a more modern twist. If Ford was going after the Camaro, I think they did a good job...
By the way... Are the instrument gauges between the 2011 and 2012 different? Does the 2012 look like the 2013 minus the LCD screen? I've never actually seen a 2012 either! Mustangs are super rare in Japan!
