Question HELP! Looking for THIS color

hi folks,

i am desperatly looking for the right color of the mustang in the attached video. my 68 is primer grey and waiting for itīs new paintjob in a few weeks.
i contacted the seller who provided me the name of the original owner, but he is not responding
some say the color in the video is kona-blue-metallic, but some comments say itīs s.th. else, like the original nightmist blue.

so my hope is that maybe some of you guys know this car or can at least confirm/deny that it is kona-blue or nightmist or s.th. else?

please have a look:

thanx a lot !!!!

Have you tried going to an automotive paint store and looking thru the paint samples that they have?? They should have every color that has been put out on any types of car

It's called Acapulco Blue. 1967 color. If it's original... could be they just mixed stuff up.

You can enter different years and makes. Like this:
http://www.tcpglobal.com/autocolorli...-ford-pg01.jpg

And there, you'll find Nightmist, which almost looks black. Hence why I think it's Acapulco.

There's also this:
http://www.houseofkolor.com/speedsha...es_shimrin.jsp

In which you can mix and match stuff and maybe get what you want that way. Shimrin's only one of the choices, they're on the left. Although Lapis Blue would be very nice.

/Ah, there it is. Emberglo. 1966. Yum.

Sorry about that I didnt realize you lived in Europe. I suck at looking for stuff online so I hope that these great people will be able to point you in the right direction.

Reminds me of the color SVO Paul used on his SEMA car this year. Something indigo or something.

Problem is there is no telling what it is. Some people don't stick to the proper color or even year, or even make or model. I know a guy here who had his '69 Mach 1 painted with a Toyota truck color of all things.

It's just too hard to tell. It's a good deep looking color though. I like it.

I'd bet it's definitely not Kona though.

Ha Ha! Well I found it but I don't think it's quite it.

Indigo ink pearl

Guess what? It's a Lexus color!

thank you guys for your help! i really appreciate it.

looking at a lot of pictures i donīt think itīs neither nightmist nor acapulco blue. the nm seems too dark with no or very little metallic-effect. the acapulco seems green to me.
but that lexus-color looks reallyl nice indeed!

i keep searching and let you guys know. if there are any more opinions just let me know!

thank you very much!

edit:

well I just found s.th. on ebaymotors:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1965-...item35aa791737

they say itīs "caspian blue" - i think thatīs an original mustang-color...
can anyone confirm? would be great

BUT it looks different to this one (in most pics):

hmmm...

okay the fastback in my first link looks like the color in the video, so does this one:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...04350959#v4-32

maybe itīs nightmist blue?!

well that fb-auction says caspian-blue but when i look at pictures there seem to be different caspian blues one more of a green... **** - first i thought i found it and now i am confused again

but searching for "caspian blue" on google also shoed me this:

http://img391.imageshack.us/img391/686/slk069cs0.jpg

well - i really prefer the SL but the color looks close...

I'm pretty sure that is a modern era color. I think it may be True Blue (Ford paint code 2L )

Yeah. It definitely looks like that Lightning. Plus that'd be a cool color for an old Mustang too.

alright... still looking for that **** color

okay, nightmist blue? sometimes it really looks like thatīs it - but often it just looks green. so?!

just found this one: TWILIGHT blue (original ford color, from 1988)

http://mustangattitude.com/mustang/1...00033_02.shtml

@rather b: is that true blue in all the pictures? the pickup really looks purple to me an lighting seems to be similar.

iīll keep on searching...

edit:

now this is fun - a lot of colors: http://paintref.com/cgi-bin/colorcod...page=3&rows=50

AND thereīs another color i found: presidential blue

discussed here: http://mustangforums.com/forum/class...507-black.html

edit2:

okay i now am pretty sure that it is nightmist blue:

that also makes sense to me - a prefeclty restored 67 mustang (like in the video) is usually not messed up with some modern paint... plus the nightmist is a 67 color.
well iīll try to get a sample around here.

thanks for all the help

cheers,
nils
