Help Buying A 2013 Mustang
Help Buying A 2013 Mustang
Hi, everyone. I have viewed this forum as a guest for a long time but just now registered as a user because I am going to be buying a new Mustang this week and was wondering if I could get some advice negotiating the price of the car. I'm going to be buying a 2013 Ford Mustang V6 Coupe, deep impact blue, automatic, with the 101 A Equipment Package (stripe and deckled spoiler). The MSRP for the car is $24,485 and the invoice is $23,050 (according to Kelley Blue Book). Does anyone have any advice about what a good price to pay for this car would be and/or a good starting price for negotiating with the dealer? Thanks everyone.

True, but you should be able to negotiate the price down to well below X Plan, especially with a leftover 2013. Just don't let the doc fees etc, eat up the amount you negotiated below the XPlan price.
On the Club of America website it says you have to tell the dealer about the XPlan the first time you talk to them inside the dealership. The problem is, I spent an hour in there yesterday talking to a dealer. Would I still be able to use the X Plan without mentioning it yesterday?
You could also take a look at truecar.com. That site allows you to completely configure your Mustang with options, etc. and shows you a target price that is pretty aggressive. Once you register with them they send your contact info and configuration to several Ford dealers in your area. Those dealers have a relationship with truecar.com such that they will meet or beat the target price and there is no haggling. If you will be buying a 2013 from stock, be sure to change the year in truecar.com. It will come up with 2014.
